I'm looking at some true adjustable coilovers, for any of you guys who have taken your stock stuff off...is this something that can be done in your driveway? Do you have to have any special tools, like a spring compressor, or is it pretty easy and straight forward?

I need an answer ASAP if you guys can help me out.

Thanks!!
Dan

yea dude its cake, ive pulled my suspension apart a bagillion times. im pretty sure a gsx has the same setup so basically this is what it comes down to...

unbolt the 3 upper shock mount's under the hood (14mm), raise up the car and unbolt the 14mm sway bar link from the shock. unbolt the 17mm upper damper fork bolt that holds the shock. unbolt the lower damper fork bolt (17mm) and slide the bolt out so you can lower down the strut assembly...lower the damper fork down low enough and push the strut assembly up to get the shock out of the damper fork. be CAREFUL not fuck up your cv boot, its right there.

all goes back together just in reverse, follow all torque specs obviously. BTW ^^^^ thats for the fronts.

now the rears are even easier, unbolt the two upper 14mm bolts (see pic 1) under the rear hatch. raise up the car, remove the wheel. (see pic 2) unbolt the lower 17mm bolt on the strut (see pic 3) and now the rear strut should just slide off the metal sleeve sticking out, bam...its off...easy enough (see pic 4)

edited for pics ;)
