24447, Tokico Question?
Posted by Aggression, Jun-19-04 12:55 PM
I just installed my Tokico Blues with my Prokit setup and now my ride sits 2" higher. Is that normal? I haven't driven it yet so I didn't know if they would start to sag a bit. If they aren't going to sag I am going to have to get the sportline springs. I can take a picture of the gap now. Its exactly 2" from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender well.

Please Lemme know.

Thanks

Nah the tokicos should be identical. Did you not have the spring seated correctly on the strut perch?

What do you mean by 2" higher?? If your car is sitting 2" higher than it was before, then something is wrong. If there is a 2" wheel gap between your fender and tire then that is probably about right. And yes, they will sag a bit over time.

Yah they are seated perfect in the perch. I am thinking it was only sitting that low because the stock struts were blown I might as well of been rolling around with none at all. When I push the shaft down in on the stock strut, it does even start to come back out in the slightest. Plus there were gashes on the shaft of the rear passenger side strut.

Thanks for the info guys. Its greatly appreciated.

Ok well I got the tokico struts/shocks on and went for a ride and its seems really stiff. And when I hit a bump it still hits hard. I don't know if the lumina's would have given that much more of a difference for the price. Plus I think a big fact in it is due to my heavy 18" rims and low profile 40 series tires as well. Plus I will take pictures of the spots on the road I am talking about too. The are basically equivalant to a speed bump on the interstate.

I am going to complain to the city and VDOT to see if they can correct those because they have forced cars off the road out of control because they are so big and just stupid. If you could see these things you would be like omfg.

I am gonna try and get pics of them to send to VDOT so if and when I do I will post them.

I think if you really want max comfort on a 2gnt, its like Koni's and prokits or Tein springs..
