24369, Question about GSX Brake Swap...
Posted by GhEttOrAiD, Jun-14-04 08:29 AM
I just received this kit from Spooledupracing... Also got the SS lines from him. Lines have a banjo fitting... The calipers have 2 small posts where the tubular skirt around the banjo fitting can just sort of slip into... but I don't see how you actually connect the line to the caliper...

Do I use the old "bolt" or whatever it is from the RS calipers? Is this something I should run to satan for? If so... how the crap do I order them (what are they called..) Also... will I encounter this problem on the drums in the back?

Thanks in advance

that should either be with your new brakes or with the lines, I forgot which. If it isnt , then its incomplete. Ill go take a look for you in a bit.

Yeah, they just screw in. It helps if you put the part that goes in the caliper first, and then the top part.

You just need to get new washers for the front banjo fittings (2 for each caliper), reuse the stock banjo bolts.

Careful not to overtorque the connections, you'll flatten the brake lines and rear caliper connection points and it will cause leaks. They are all suppose to be at 9 ft lbs I believe.

9ft/lbs ok thanks

there are some plastic plugs in the calipers I got, they have two washers on each of them so I figure those are them...

you saved me a trip to south san francisco, thanks!! (well, two actually bc id have to go back when stuff arrives)

haynes says 11ft/lbs... I'll do 10
