Is there a company out there that makes aftermarket control arms. I dont mean like OEM, I mean beefier, or at least better ball joints because I keep hearing about how the arms used on the recall are... well... CRAP! I'd like to put in some really nice lowers and uppers, then move onto springs, wheels, etc.

P.S. Is there a company out there that makes a prefabbed roll coage for our second gens, or do I have to bend it myself? Thats an eventuallity too.

no....and i am pretty sure that Mach V sells prefabbed cages. Quite Espensive though IMO....prolly be the same cost, or cheaper, to get one locally after shipping. Nevermind if you possess the magical powers to bend it up yourself.

Damn, and magical powers no, but 50yr olds that have been drag racing for 30 some odd years :) yes. I guess Ill have to go to the dealer or somethn for those control arms then :( someone ought to make tubulars for us though...hmmm

custom chromoly suspension peices would be nice, lose a lot of extra weight that way if you think about it. but yea, i'd also like a few laser guns or a 6 speed rwd option or even awd and still have a 420a, 6 speed though...lol and laser guns and little built in vending machines would be cool too, and wings, and wheels that didnt ever have to be replaced and magical things that give me good gas mileage :P but thats all a 2gnters dream...MORE FUCKING PARTS

if you really think about it the hardest piece to fab would be the lateral arm, the lower control arm wouldn't be too terribly hard, and the upper has been done on so many other cars it'd be easy. The worry I would have after building those three would be, what happens if you hit a curb, the lower is made to give so you dont bend the unibody, but these wouldn't give. I guess its a risk I'd be willing to take though. I need a TIG now, and access to chromemoly.

If so i wouldn't think a custom arm would be much possible since they aren't pressed in. I could be wrong though...but isn't that why you can't jus buy a ball joint, you gotta get the whole arm?? :shrug

Thats the beauty of my idea, replaceable ball joints, like you would have in a Ford or somthin. My old Mustang you just unbolt the ball joint and replace, you leave the arm alone!
