Hey I jsut bought a nice sway bar kit but have one problem I can't remove the stupid bolt that connects the sway bar to the link...has anyone done this and if so what kinda tool did u use?? I used a wrench and a rachet and the wrench stripped the nut...

Were you using a Standard size wrench/socket? Or maybe a 12 point? Either way now it is stripped. I suggest using a lot of PB Blaster (penetrating oil, do not use WD 40) and getting a locking wrench/vice grips as tight as you can on the nut to get it off. Or if you can get access to air tools, get a 6 pointed socket that will just barely slide over the damaged nut, pound it on with a hammer, then impact it off.

I already tried vice grips no good...the whole problem is that i need to hold one side with a rachet and somehow hold the nut on the other side which is skinny as hell and just wants to keep stripping

If you have a grinder try putting 2 new sides on the nut slowly grinding a tight for a wrench then

What do you mean a hole for an allen wrench?? I am thinking maybe heating the nut and it will be a little less tight??

I don't think every year has that allen wrench hole. But I've seen in some later DSM's that there's a spot at the end of the bolt link to hold the bolt with an allen wrench as opposed to getting that open ended wrench on the back side of the sway bar.

I agree with others here as to use the vice grips though. If you get it on well enough, it should do the trick.
