What's up everyone. I just wanted to know if getting a Lower Tie Bar worth the money. Does it make a big difference in handling? Or is the effect so minimal that you cannot even feel the difference? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I actually have the same question with Sway Bars as well so if you can answer for both, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Actually I just put on a lower rear tie bar on a few weeks ago and with my stillen sway bars hell yea it works...takes away some oversteer you dont want...defently worth the money if your upgrading with sway bars...by itself it will help alittle yes...alot more then what I was surprised it would do

i imagine it will give you about as much as a strut tower bar as far as a handling goes...Couple them with an STB and will prove to be a good investment i am sure. Mine should be on in about a week...i'll throw up a review or sumthin :shrug

i was sceptical at first, then the first drive after install. . WOW!!

combine them with the shock tower braces. evern better!
i have 3 of the five braces and it makes hella difference!!

i also upgraded to a set of suspension techniques sway bars, tightens everything up, less understeer more neutral and even more predictable response.

So none of you guys have the tie bar by itself? All you guys have it along with a sway bar?

before i installed my sway bars i just had the three primary braces and it rocked!!

as for the five
f / r upper
rear lower
front lower (either GS Huricane or the Tanabe brace, i dont know if you can combine them?)

fornt upper firewall tie brace. (ties the two towers and the firewall (looks like an "A" brace), i think it was made by Neuspeed but im not sure) most are homemade though

trust me you wont be disapointed with just the three primary braces

I've got both lower tie bars, and I must say, it is a drastic improvement over having nothing at all. My car handles better than my crappy worn out tires can perform. Get them, get them now, you will in no way regret it if you love taking turns fast.

I can think of 7 total...

1&2: Front/Rear Strut Bars
3&4: Front/Rear Tie Bars
5&6: Front/Rear Sway Bars
7: Neuspeed Style Front Strut Bar

I have 1,2,3,4, & 5 along with Tokico struts, Eibach springs, and 18" rims and tires and they were all worth every penny. I love flying by cars when I am going around an on-ramp to the highway. The only cars that have been able to outsteer me are AWD or high-dollar cars(Porshe...yadda yadda yadda)

Theres an '8th' bar.
Its a bar that fits in your interior in the middle of your car behind your front seats. I have a link for it somewhere on my home comouter.

i am pretty sure that the in car bar proved to be worthless...or damn near it anyway. Have you guys thought about getting a custom cage put in your cars as opposed to dishing out all sorts of many on random chassis bars n whatnot??

It has been my understanding that a full welded-in cage will stiffen the hell out of the chassis.
I actually started doing some research on that this past weekend, figuring costs and such.
A proper cage could(in theory) eliminate the need for many of those braces. So, think of how much $$$ you can spend on all of these braces versus a full cage. I'm thinking full cage all the way, besides, they look cool as fuck.
I just don't have enough info from enough sources yet to make a good decision. :shrug I'll make a post when I come to some good conclusions.

i might think about it when i do a 2.4 turbo setup, but for now i dont want to deal with people asking what my 1/4 mile is and having to say 14's w/o a turbo.

also with as heavy as our cars our anyway, i would hate to add more weight with a full interior and a system.

i will agree with you on the fact that a full cage done right will make the chassis TIGHT as hell!

for now i will go with a little stealth

well...these lil bars that we are buying help stiffin up the chassis...but a properly done cage should eliminate most body roll and stiffen up the chassis like whoa. A cage will add weight...but i wouldn't imagine it adding mor ehten 100 lbs TOPS...genereal rule of thumb is 100 lbs = .1 secs in the quarter. To me its worth it, plus you get the added safety....not to mention they look phat as hell.

Look into it peoples...it will prolly save you money in the end as opposed to going for the name brand stb's and ltb's and aftermarket sway bars and the neuspeed fifth bar.

As far as stealth...get some window tint...it makes it tough to see inside...or i have seen very good jobs done on steathy installs where you cannot see them from the outside. How much street racing do you do where a visible cage would really matter...on the strip it matters not IMO.
