lemme ask one quick question. Right now I'm riding on prokits with stock struts/shocks. When I hit bump its like BAM. Which shocks do I need to get to soften that blow? I am building a fiberglass enclosure and if I keep the setup like it is now...the enclosure will be in peices after the first bump. Do they really make a big enough difference that it will absorb that much more impact then the stock Shocks? Just don't have the extra money to spend and don't want to get something that isn't going to make that much of a difference.

Let me know what would make my car absorb the most shock for the most reasonable price. Thanks guys.

My prokits with tokico illuminas keeps me happy! What do you mean by "BAM"? Like are you bottoming out? What happens when you push down on your car and let go? Does your car bounce up and down pretty hard?

When I say BAM...I mean whenever I go over a bump that is what I hear and feel. Its feels like I have no tires when I hit these bumps and its the only way I can describe it would be like hitting a curb at like 10 mph with no tires on and it causes a lot of vibrations within the car. Which worries me because of my whole interior will be fiberglassed here in less then a month.

For the most part it is a pretty bouncy ride because of the prokits. I just need to know what setup will correct this BAM so the vibrations won't crack my fiberglass interior...mainly the dash and full trunk encloser.

I'd go with at least Tokico blues. Sounds like you are bottoming out. the stock shocks are designed for stock springs. By using the pro-kits you've shorted the car's up/down travel...shite, does that make sense?

Will the illumina's give me a smoother ride? My main concern is the fiberglass getting cracks. I have spent a lot of money to get the fiberglassing done. I did it myself so I saved on labor but its still expensive. So if I put the illumina's on it will stop the car from bottoming out and absorb more of the shock for a much smoother ride? Does anyone still bottom out with the illumina's that have prokits with them?

I did a search and found nothing that gave me the info I needed before I make my purchase. I don't want to get them right now if they won't alieviate this issue. tia.

Curious, do you drive that hard? I'm not sure about fiberglass cracking, because I'm about to start fiberglass trunk myself in a few weeks. But, does your stuff jump and bounce that hard? what about mounting the box? or maybe put something between the box and the body? How thick is your fiberglass box?

I just put on Tokico Illuminas with the Tokico Springs(1.5" drop). Before this I had blown Tokico HP's. As soon as I put on the Illuminas I noticed a huge difference. Bumps are ALOT more gentle then before. While I was down there I did the $15 dollar(LOL more like $35) camber mod. Back wheels look alot better. Used 6 washers. Now I just need new tires. But to answer the question. Yes Illuminas will work wonders. pZ

Yeah I think you should go with the illuminas because the tokico blues may not be the kind of ride you want. Since you're afraid of your fiberglass enclosure being cracked, I recommend adjustables, thus illuminas, agx, and such. Tokico blues give you a stiff ride, and when I go over bumps it feels pretty rocky.

Well thanks guys...now I am in a bad perdicament. I bought the tokico blues last night on ebay for $250 because the Illumina's were around $400. I made a post in the interior exterior section and a guy said the blues work great. So I got them and now if I am not going to feel much of a difference...I am going to be pissed.

To answer your questions No I don't drive hard at all and my enclosure only has one layer as of now. I will be working on adding more layers this weekend. I put up pics in the interior exterior section already of my progress. I just hope the blues work out. I was gonna get the Illumin's but a couple said the blues would be fine.

I would contact the person that is selling the blues and tell them that you would like to cancel the auction. Illumina's are the way to go for you. The blues aren't adjustable and the Illumina's are. That way you will be able to set your ride to the firmness you want. Check the ebay sellers other auctions and see if they are selling the Illuminas also. More than likely they are. That is where I got mine from... ebay that is. I'm sure they won't mind you "upgrading" your auction to a more expensive item. It's worth a shot... especially if it will make you happier in the long run.

There have been multiple people tell me that the blues would absorb more shock and would be fine. See I didn't want to have to spend 400 for something that would give me more then what I need. I just want something that will absorb more shock then the stock ones since I'm lowered. So the blues don't work? If not I will sell the blues on here and buy the Illumina's then. I used the blues for about 2-3 years.They are a lot better than stock. Do this, use them for a month, if you don't like them, sell them here...I'm sure some one here will buy them..

Why put them on if they aren't gonna give me the ride I need. I need the softest ride possible to protect the fiberglass from cracking. I know nothing will be perfect but I just need something that will abosorb the most shock and from what most have said the Illumina's are the best shock for my prokit setup. So I am going to sell the brand new blues for $255 shipped...that is what I payed for them and they will be brand new in the box ready to be shipped if anyone wants them.
