alright my brakes were squeaking, so i bought all new rotors and pads, because the original rotors were warpt. the squeaking went away, but a couple days later it came back. now every once in a while the rear brakes squeal even when i am not braking, just when i am driving. i will press in the brake and the sound will go away, but it will always come back a few days later. what do you guys think the problem might be? maybe i need new bearings in the rear?

what kind of pads and rotors did you? the rotor sheild(not sure if that the right term) may be rubbing thats the problem i had with my se-r after i put new brakes on it if thats not it you may need to shim the pads you purchased and you could also try that anti squeak its like 99cents.

they are life time pads from autozone. i have bought them before, for the front and the back, but i only have problems with the rear. i do have anti squeak on them. and there are no shims. i dont know if there were any shims on them originaly, because Just Brakes did them, and i didnt get the old pads back.

squeaking is normal, but not when the brakes are not pressed... you might have a bearing that is going out in back causing the rotor to press against the pads (at an angle)


as far as brake pads go... the ones that last longest are the ones that squeak the most... the quiet ones don't last very long... it's all in the hardness of the friction material... (harder = longer life = more squeaking, softer = shorter life = quiet)
