machv.com they are 13" on "sale" for $675 and i got the $148 zinc/slotted/drilled upgrade b/c i also got the AEM 11.5" rear discs and i didn't want drilled rear discs and smooth front (i am picky, get off me)

i will as soon as i get my car back. the plastic bearings in the tranny are shit and 2 of them melted... they were replaced about 2000 miles ago and i only launched it maybe 5 times total during that time period and the 5th time they melted and you could smell it :(
EDIT: also most of those miles are highway i traveled about 9 hours of highway miles in that 2,000 so hardly any was city... its bullshit >:O

omfg, the aem rear brakes are on backorder for another 2 weeks and i've already waited over a month. and of course they already took my money pics by next weekend for the fronts though... i hope

On your sig, when you got on that flat bed, did you mess up your bumper bad...like bend completley in half and then bend back to normal once it was on the bed? Cuz damn when I got on one, my whole bumper bent in half, I was like AHHHHHHH, but once on the bed it went back to normal. OEM URETHANE BABY YEA :thumbsup

That's why I carry 10mm sockets to remove the bumper just in case.

naw, the driver was a pro that picked mine up. he had blocks and once the front wheels got on he lifted the bed up some and shit... only taking it off i got stressed at one point b/c almost the entire weight of the the front of my car was resting on a chain under my intercooler. and we all know how well the intercooler is bolted on... i was getting pretty hot but nothing bad happened

edit: oh yea i got the calipers painted red now and baer is in black. also i would have gotten my car back friday but they sent me an automatic and i don't need that shit...

Can someone tell me if they've deal with Hopup Racing before? They have a badass deal on these brakes, and I wanna snag a set.

meh you are never going to need those, brembro blanks and good pads would be fine for what you me and many others do.

plus teh slots eat rotors

blanks and good pads is all you need, most people dont understand how good thier stock brakes are or how good oem parts can be... id ditch the rear drums first

well if you swap out the drums on the rs id get a bigger MC and propoting valve...

my stock brakes were the suck and i came super close hitting other cars due to them hardly working... especially on a hot day i would push as hard as i could and they just didn't want to stop... just keep on rolling only time they would lock up is in gravel or under 5mph with all the force i could manage on the pedal... now i don't have to push with all my might lol and its just safer to be able to use less force and its easier to modulate(?) them and i auto-x...

and of course no one has to have them... and yes bling factor is high :)

and any avid auto xer will tell you that those brakes are a waste
hope they dont push you out of your current class

plus x drilled will break.. if you autox i hope they dont break anytime soon
slooted will just eat your pads


err if you stock brakes werent working right, maybe it was something besides the size of the rotors

ok evan could show a little more tact but he's making a lot of valid points. before anyone jumps on my case i HAVE aem 12.5" xdrilled/slotted rotors with GSX calipers. the rotors don't really do shit. the main braking improvement i've seen was due to upgrading to gsx calipers. our stock brakes suck. that's a fact that few would dispute. however, big rotors are not necessarily the answer to the problem. yes your brakes 'feel' like they grab more. a lot of what people associate with performance is the amount of pedal travel required to break your tires loose.

think about that for a second

the fact that your wheels lock with say half pedal now does NOT mean your braking has been improved. better braking is associated with decreased stopping distance and increased resistance to fade. pedal travel really has nothing to do with it. really all you've done is DECREASED your ability to properly modulate your braking. instead of many degrees of between zero braking and full braking you now have ON and OFF. not good.

a true brake upgrade kit must analyze the entire braking system of the car as a whole. your front and back brakes are not independant. did you know that by making your front wheels lock up sooner you have actually increased your overall stopping distance? that's bad. this is due to the fact that your rear brakes are no longer being brought as close to their threshold as with the stock braking bias. an ideal braking system bring all four wheels to their breaking point at nearly the same time. this allows for a minimum stoppping distance and maximum control throughout the deceleration.

i drove my friends spec v (not the brembo package) and his brakes are more like on or off... soooooo touchy it was crazy. These don't seem to be more touchy than stock and i havn't stomped them yet b/c baer says to drive normal for 600-700 miles but anyway i upgraded the rear too... its not like they are stock drums anymore they are 11.5" yea i know its not perfectly balanced... so i guess i wasted MY money.
