2314, Has NE1 scraped their RRE FLTB? Posted by HadesOmega, May-14-01 12:40 PM
Has NE1 Scraped their RRE Front Lower Tire bar yet? It's like the only thing sticking out from the bottom of my car. I managed to scrape it on Mount Hamilton here in San Jose. I pulled off to the side of the road and it scraped, didn't break though. Man I wish they made it a little more flush with the bottom of the car, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. I want to bend it up to straighten it out with a jack or something but it might move the mounts out more. Oh well at least it worx but one of these days it's gonna get torn right off and it might tear off more than just the bar! :(

Dude, I smacked the hell out of mine the other day. I was going down the road where there was some construction going on and didn't realize the road was slightly elevated. Well, my car went up over the hump and came back down....wham! Scraoed it really bad but it didn't break. I took it off for now and am debating on putting it back on. That can't be good for the car at all becuase that bar isn't going to break, but that pressure being forced against the car....I don't know.

I have hit it a few times and it seems to be okay but we will see what happens after a few months.

I took mine off too. I can barely go up my parents drive way with it plus i keep hitting those humps on the middle of the roads.

LAST EDITED ON 15-May-01 AT 11:10 PM (PST)That is probably a contributing factor. Be good to know the correlation between bottoming out and the amount of drop from lowereing springs

I've got the prokits and have scraped my bar once already. I wouldn't be suprised if it scrapes again. It seems very close to the ground!
