22989, steering problem..motor mount? Posted by stv, Mar-13-04 06:54 AM
I have a broken motor mount, it's the mount on the driver's side side, it's on the tranny only. it's broken where one of the bolt holes go, I believe there are 3 holes, so its one of the sides... could this be the cause of the akward (sp) swaying my car is doing? or what.. its like my car moves back and forth when I take a curve turning left at high speeds.. please help, it's starting to scare me...0h yeah if you have that mount I need one.. I had one but since that fag stole my parts car's tranny, he got it too..

i broke that one before just get it rewelded. i did that to mine and drilled out the hole and its been working great. Ok as far as the swaying thing i doubt it would be that it shouldnt have any effect i would check all the bushings and stuff on the right side sence the weight will shit over there on a left turn.

Check your sway bar and linkage...that is what the sway ar prevents and controls. HMMNN car is swaying...sounds kinda logical dont it...lol

Alignment problem, possibly a bad tie rod.

The anti-sway bar is too keep both wheels flat on the ground w/ cornering.

for the swaying in turns, i had this problem a while back. figured out the bar from the body to the rear passenger wheel hub was messed up. the cylinder that the bolt goes thru at the body had come loose from the rest, allowing wheel movement in corners. probably not a common problem, but it's a good idea to get under the car and check all that out.

yeah, left turns were the most noticable anyway. i think putting weight on the passenger side in left turns caused it swing around the most, making steady cornering quite bouncy. added excitement in the rain too

just a bit of fyi... my car has some interesting vibration at highway speeds only when veering left... i know for a fact i have a bad front passenger wheel bearing, i just dont have the money to get one as of right now
its funny seeing all these 2gnt's with something wrong mostly noticable when turning left. lol
just another thing you may want to check, but mine never really "sways"
hope this helps

searching and found this.
I think i remembre seeing the swaybar link that is like, 5 inches or 6 inches long loose... it was stripped and was stilil connected but loose. would that cause my car to kick back to the left when steadily cornering right? it is really not cool anymore. and could it be my problem with my brakes feeling like they are warped?
