I get some steering wheel vibration which can also be felt in the front on my car everytime I brake from about 40mph to 5 mph. I just bought a 97 Eclipse RS with 40,000 miles, original stock wheels, new brake pads, but the car was lowered using aftermarket springs which I can't make out the manufacturer, the drop looks to be about 1.8" and does not have chamber correction. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem.

I agree. REPLACE THEM, Do NOT even think about just having them turned no matter how good they look. Turning them is a bandaid and will not last. Buy rotors from a Carquest or Napa or such and MAKE SURE they are the MADE IN USA or CANADA ones. I am not being ANTI ANYTHING here. The ones from CHINA and such are not up to par and can warp the first time you get down hard on the brakes. I am NOT saying that the others won't either, but they are a better grade and quality rotor. GOOD LUCK

For less than $200 you can get the power slot rotors and some good pads. Just as good as the AEM kit and cheaper.

that's what I did, rotors were warped so I put on powerslots and porterfield pads

and those chinese rotors, I've heard of some of them being warped BEFORE even being put on the car, that's how bad the quality can be.

My car has been vibrating when I brake for as long as I can remember. There are no adverse side-effects and the car still stops perfectly and quickly. I only have 22k miles on the car as well, so I'm not touching the brakes for a while. (yeah, I don't know why they are warped either)

Most cars have these problems with rotors. Any of the heavier ones anyways. The rotors are made very cheaply and when you have those dinky ass rotors trying to stop all that weight, they heat up very quick and usually within about 20k miles they will vibrate and need rotated or most likely replaced. You will find this to be true on most new cars that way anything over about 2400 lbs.. Sucks but car companies can be cheap with things like this.. :oP

the powerslot/stops are good but they really arent just as good as teh AEM's because the AEM has a bigger rotor.

if your brake petal is going up n down then you have warped rotors if not then a mechanic touched it and left a finger print on it and that can really screw things up, make the whole car shake like hell. before i spent the money on new rotors id buy some brake cleaner, pull the pads and spray everything.
