What is the best tire in your opinion? Im trying to find the best tire for me, but no clue what to get. I dont know what to look for really, but these will be daily/street tires that perform the best. Probably some kind of a sticky tire? for traction (boosted here). I need these to grip and put the power to the ground and reduce spinning. Just looking for suggestions. What do u think?

Are you looking for an all season performance tire, or just a "summer" tire?

For all season, I like the Bridgestone Potenza RE950s (it's H rated, so it's not for going over 130mph)

For a summer tire BF Goodrich KDWs, they'll still work in the rain (or at least they should) and they'll still be a very good Z rated ultra high performance tire. They'll also be expensive :)

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. Stick good for me. I couldnt break them loose in the rain in my parking lot at work, have a rating os 300 (maybe 280, i forget) after 15,000 miles they still look pretty good. not sure how well on boost they are but ill find out in a few months. kind of expensive paid 172/tire from tire rack, of course they are like 250-300 from any tire store. no problems yet and i love them

nitto555's are nice. one of my good friends has them on his SVT lightning. he makes close too 500whp at 1800rpms and they hookup like no other. falkin azenis are pretty cheap so u could try those before you pay out the arse for tires. but, you do get what you pay for. also, you should consider expected mileage.

My I second the Yokohama Parada's, they placed 8 out of 47 tires in the Ultra High Performance Catagory, and did I mention they are less than $100 a pop (www.tirerack.com)?

The only non excellent thing about this tire is that they arn't a snow tire (wet and dry).

BTW, they have the highest speed rating (Y - for going over 186 mph).

I like my Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's. They were pretty cheap too, I think less than $90 each for 16's. They suck ass in the snow though.

I just did a little comparison and the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 with the WR (not the VR like 3 or 4 bucks cheaper) are like the best bang for buck and the cost to replace them sooner are pretty inexpensive compared with the other, other than that they are a non compromise tire and should do well, this is what I'm pickin up next week

I had the nitto's on my car and my tires would lose traction all the time. I bought some bridgestone potenza s-03 pole positions and they grip like no other. And in the rain, I've been able to hit 15psi and they still didn't spin.

S-03's are very impressive in the rain. they're also good when it's dry. they are also expensive and every time i go to the track i have to suck it up and do a 1-2 second burnout. seeing the smoke blow away is like watching money fly away...

Pilot Sports are also very good. they are also an expensive tire.

i went through 2 sets of Yokahoma AVS Intermediates, before they were discontinued... they were awful in the rain, but they were very stable in corners although straight line traction wasn't that great.

Yokohama AVS ES100's. Almost impossible to bust them loose, even cornering at good(fast) speeds. Its definitly a summer only tire though, I learned that the hard way :nono

I would also reccomend the potenza S-03s they are simply awsome, I had a set of prada spec-IIs, they were great brand new but then they wore down too fast and lost wet traction. Tires affect so many aspects of performance, they are one thing I would cheap out on.

I agree with S-03s, I have installed a few sets on cars and the customers have nothing but good things to say. Parada Spec-IIs are also nice.

I have a set of Sumitomo HTRZIIs on my ride now with less that 700 miles and they are some sticky shit =] I have been pushing them pretty far at speeds in excess of 100 mph on highway turns and have yet to have them break on me. Only down side is they wear pretty quickly from what I have seen on other cars, but their price is reasonable for a Z rated tire.

They can be purchased at www.jdmpro.net You just have to give them a call or email.

Here is the article about them on speedoptions: http://www.speedoptions.com/articles/3520/?SpeedOptions=50869a730444aee7f588f0d5bce52c96

I'll be getting them as soon as it's time to replace my 555's

Let's see here. Talon - Bridgestone RE950's (~$150). Awesome all-weather tire. Eclipse - Kuhmo 712's (~$100), great tire especially at the price. Pirelli 8000's($??) were great in the dry (a little noisy though)but horrible in the rain. Kuhmo v700's (~$235?), these will stick like nothing you've ever driven on, but don't expect them to last very long nor can you drive in the rain with them on. They are an 'R' compound tire.

On the Evo - Stock Yokohama AO46's (~$208). The closest thing to an 'R' compound you can get. I will keep buying these for my car as long as I can get them. Downside is there is only one size available (235/45-17), don't last very long (expect 10k-15k miles), and SUCK under 40 degrees. NEVER drive them in the snow, you WILL wreck your car. Sumitomo HTRII's (~$80), Unbelieveable tire for the money. Great in the snow and rain, predictable break-away in the dry.

Well, since I have turbo'd my car I have gone through 3 sets of tires in the front. First and worst were the Kumhos.....did not hook up well with boost, but they cornered well.....but I needed straight line performance. Next I went to the BFG G-force drag radial. Those hooked up a lot better than the Kumhos but only lasted 2K miles! After I burned those down to the wear bars I went to the Azenis'. I LOVE THEM! They hook better than the drags and are lasting quite nicely. I have 2K miles on them so far with no signs of tread wear yet. I highly reccomend them to anyone with boost thats looking for a great street tire that will last. Also, my buddy has the S-03's on his big16G powered GS-T and they seem to hook up just as well....great tire. I know they are better in the rain than the Azenis, but thet are also like $50 more per tire. Just my .02.....

I have those right now, but got to replace them because mine went out of round because of riding home on the highway on a busted axle/motor mount. I was pleased with the tire other than I've had it less than a year and the the tread is down to the indicators (on proper alignment).

Has anyone tried the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2's?

i'm gettin the kumo's 712's again. they lasted me from june to march with about 15,000 miles. i thought they were a great tire and for 18s handled all season.
