22197, Camber Kit Posted by eagletalon98, Feb-01-04 10:03 AM
I am going to soon lower my 1998 Eagle Talon and I have been told that you need a camber kit to bring the wheels back in some. I have KYB AGX shocks and Arospeed coilovers. Can you tell me what kind of camber kits are good or what I would need? -Troy-

I got the ingalls. They are really heavy duty and very easy to install/adjust. Price tag was around $170

for the rear use either shims/washers with longer bolts grade 10.9.

There are 2 types of camber kits for the eclipse: Adjustable Anchor bolts, and Ball Joint adjustable. I recommend the Anchor bolts for the ease of installation and adjusting. I have the ball joint kit and it is a pain to make adjustments. EDIT: Talking about the Front.

I'll have to agree....I have the adjustable ball joints and they are a pain to work with even though it's simple to adjust. The worst part is getting the old ones off....there's a clip under the grease boot that you need to remove then press the joint out...putting the new one in is easy but tightening it down and keeping it from sliding around is a pain. There really isn't anything to lock the sliding section down.....the nut is not self-locking and it doesn't have much room to put a lock washer on. I haven't had it in for more than a week, but we'll see what happens. The passenger side already loosened up on me after the first day, but that could have been the result of having a lack of room to get the proper torque...if i'm not mistaken I believe they should be torqued down to about 70 ft lbs.

Highjack: My Spc Ball joint kit has instructions to torque the locking bolt to 91 ft lbs. I've been driving around for 2 months and no problems. I used a vise grip to hold the ball joint from moving while i torqued the locking bolt. Hope this helps.
