Anyone know what manufacturer make the rear upper strut bar that has L-brackets so that the hatch cover will not hit it? thanks

I have a rear strut bar and doesnt touch the hatch....no rear bar touches the hatch...its mounted to the top of the struts....are you confusing it with something else maybe?


If your strut bar is touch your hatch you got a serious bend in it....like a 90 degree bend where the bend is up in the air towards the glass.....please explain?

by hatch COVER he means that hunk of particle board/carpet that goes behind the rear seat and attches to the hatch. the one that makes it so you can't see what's in your trunk from outside the car. here's a pic of a CF one:


as far as a STB that doesn't interefere with the cover, i'm not too sure. i know there were a couple that people had that didn't but i can't remember which ones off-hand

Yeah, there are some generic ones that go down then across (for this reason) instead of straight across.

I would like to get that kind too ^ if I knew where they sold them.

I dont think mine hits. Granted i dont have the lid on, but it does have L brackets like you were talkin about. Its made by Ractive...shouldnt be too expensive...heres a pic..

The Pilot bar doesn't hit. It has the drop brackets, unless they have changed the design.

^^^ Word. Mine doesnt hit either and it goes straight across...

Ahhhhhh okay....yea my Stillen rear never hit that cover piece when i had the piece....I like my Stillen rear alot too

mine dosent hit either and it is a straight shot from the tower over :shrug

I had one of those "L-bracket" ones. I sincerly doubt it did anything to improve the chassis stiffness, and never noticed a difference with it it on or off. IMO, that design is only good for show.

Of all the ones I've seen, the Road Race one is probably the best. Solid steel bar, no bends, and it mounts securely.

My hatch cover had an annoying squeek anyways, haven't had it in place for years.
