i got an rs, so my question is if i buy the rear kit will it come with calipers? also does the front kit come with calipers or you use the stock ones.

no, they do not come with calipers...you have to use the stock ones. and if you have drums, you have to do the disc conversion. the aem system comes with caliper relocation brackets to account for the larger rotor.

so for the rear, do i have to do the disc conversion first and then buy the aem rear kit or do i just have to buy rear calipers and the aem kit and do the conversion then? which one.

I'm not too sure how the rear conversion works(didn't have to do it on my car)...I'd look up the write up for the conversion and then determine what parts you will need in addition to the aem kit:thumbsup

$270 for rear kit (for use on stock DISC brakes)
you need to buy your parts separately if you have drums.
the only difference is you don't buy stock rotors since the aem kit will replace them

I have the AEM kit both front and rear (FWD setup only, but you can also get the bigger AWD setup if you get the front calipers and brackets).

This is a very nice upgrade. I find the braking is much easier to modulate, giving better control.

Note that if you are driving on the street, just upgrading the pads will give you most of the benefit. If you do a lot of aggressive (i.e. canyon) driving, the greater thermal mass of the AEMs will pay dividends. You can order them w/o the cross drilling too, an option not yet available when I got mine.

hehe adventon's got 'em even cheaper than RRE :thumbsup

on a side note i've had my AEM front kit w/ GSX calipers for about a year and their kinda jacked up. i get a lot of vibration when braking. they used to pulse slightly from when they were first installed and the shop had a bit of trouble getting them to sit flush on the hub... i know 'warped' isn't the right term but they're definatlely not the way they should be. i can actually feel the uneveness across the surface if i run my finger radially out on the rotor... plus it's been a major PITA tryna find someone who'll turn them. all the shops whine about messing up their bits. they don't like to touch x-drilled or slotted rotors...

if i could go back i'd prolly just get some raceconcept rotors instead. the AEM's look cool an stuff and it's a neat idea being able to use your stock calipers w/ an oversized rotors but i'm not the only person who's had problems with their durability. i kinda rushed into things b/c my stock brakes were thoroughly jacked and i couldn't drive. if i ever get around to puying a REAL brake kit it'll be STOPTECH all the way. :)
