I did a search on this and it helped a little but didn't answer my question fully. I recently blew one of my shocks riding on my Ractive coilovers so now its time for a switch from those. Originally i was going to buy a Tokico suspension kit but due to money issues im starting to shy away from it. My second alternative (and cheaper) was to buy Eibach pro kit springs and just replace the stock shock/strut. My question is if the stockers will hold up with the Eibachs? I've heard yes and i've heard no. I'm not too concerned about ride quality either seeing as how i was riding Ractive coilovers on stock suspension so i don't think it could be much worse. Any thoughts would help. Thanks.

if the prokit is the lowest drop eibach offers then thats what i have been ridin on with my stock shock/struts. i put them on with about 85,000 miles and the stocker have never been changed. the ride wasn't terrible and i would def like it to stiffen up a bit. i have about 100,000 now and everything is still alright so i might just be one of the lucky ones??

its not. the sportlines are ~ a 2 inch drop, while prokits are ~ 1.2 inches.

prokits will end up dropping you 1.5-1.6 after everything settles...i've been on mine for about a year now and i love them

Pro-kits are a great choice, but while you're at it you might as well replace the struts with aftermarket ones. The stockers WILL blow eventually.

Yea im going to eventually. I just dont have enough cash right now. I just got the front right one replaced and im gonna have the rear right one replaced too cause it just blew, so for now i just hafta concern myself with the left side of the car. I figured buying springs and riding those on stock suspension was better than continuing to ride the coilovers. The ride was too harsh for words. I would not recomend that setup to anyone.

Yea i here you completely and intend to buy Tokicos later on down the road but the bottom line is i need to get my car moving again. And once i save up that money i'll have a nice little setup with the Eibach pro kit and maybe some Tokico blues. The way i see it right now is that i lasted on Ractive coilovers for about 8 months before i blew a shock, and i've got 2 brand new ones. So i think the Eibachs should hold out a little longer than that, at least until i save up the money to buy new ones. Also, a little off topic, but how much do you think a shop would pay to install 4 springs and one new shock/strut assembly? I'm thinking around 300, any thoughts would be appreciated.

take that $300 and buy some blues. then go to autozone and rent a spring compressor and a friend, and do it yourself.

i still have the prokits as well on stock struts; been over a year or more. i actually want to blow my struts so i can get an upgrade: tiens true coilovers!!!

i was quoted 100 dollars for intalling springs on my car from a shop around here the rips off like no other so it shouldnt be too much.

Install it yourself. Very Very easy.
