Stiffen up the rear of the car. Stiffer springs and shocks to help prevent weight transfer should do it.
The front should be soft. Softe springs and shocks to let the tires bite a bit better on the launch. Adjustable shocks are great for a street and drag racing application.
And, sticky tires with light rims are a must. As sticky as you can get away with. If you can swap on some drag radials at the track, so much the better. If not, then try to find what you can that will still work on the drive up to the track. maybe if you don't live far, you could drive up on a nice day with drag radials (no rain/snow/not too cold). A limited slip (phantom grip, the clutch type Dino has, or a quaife) would again help out a great deal.

How streetable would a setup like the hahn car be? (lowered front with regular height rear with avenger springs) How would that effect the handling of the car while turning, etc.? Would it increase suspension stress more than lowering both?

i was looking on one site and said they were gonna start making drag launch springs for FWD eclipses so i think i'm gonna go with them. So of my friends r running them with good results just not to sure what struts to go with

Well I would suggest getting Tokico's. Those shocks on full stiff are quite stiff. The goal is to keep as much weight on the front end as possible. So a good stiff spring coupled with stiff shocks should yeild great results in the traction department. Like was said above you want the front to be softer so the suspension can keep the tires planted a little better. For a spring I would suggest Eibach Sportlines. They really lower the car quite a bit, and they are stiff. If you can find a drag launch spring then go for it.

I don't think avenger springs in the rear, and stock springs in the front are going to be a problem. Most of the time with FWD and nose heavy cars (like ours) the front suspension is more critical than the rear.
I've driven around with my shocks at full soft in the front and full stiff in the rear (I forgot to change them back when I was at the drag strip) and the car still drove around fine.
If anything, stiffening the rear of the car would help to reduce the huge understeer we have. The ride might be a bit bouncy, but with the majority of weight over the front wheels, and with the front shocks/springs soft, it wouldn't be as bad as, say having a stiff front end and a soft rear end.

but would it be bad on the car to drive around with just a lowered front end and stock height rear end

It's not. I've run Avenger rear springs for quite a while now, wrapped around KYB AGX adjustable struts. I keep the rear struts at full stiff even with the 'venge springs, and the only complaint i could possibly imagine would ne the ride quality. The rear end no longer squats - it simply sits and does what is asked of it like a confused child. I can lift myself (all 190lbs of me) on the rear hatch, and the rear suspension deflects about half an inch. It's tough.
The driveability complaints come in when people want mutually exclusive goals - a FWD car that will cut bitchin 60' times, yet still ride smooth and great for the 9 to 5. Personally (YMMV) my car rides just fine at freeway speeds. Low speed situations that require suspension dampening, it's not so nice. Speedbumps for example - the front end glides over, you feel a hump and a dip as the suspension does its job, Everyhting is good. The rear suspension comes over the bump, and there is no float. You feel a pronouced rise in the rear of the car, and a harsh jolt when it comes down the other side. It does not play nice. it does not drive comfortable. It's harsh jolt and bump shit, you feel every bit of the road in the rear of the car.
Does it launch well? yes. Does it yield better 60' times? yes. Does it do anything to make your car look better? No. You raise the rear by about half an inch doing this mod. Does the average Joe like it? Probably not. it makes the car ride rough. It handles differently. Most people won't like it.

I didn't see anythign about motr mounts. stiffen them up they are crap in stock trim.
Also no one mentioned sway bar. A stiff sway bar up front is going to help reduce wheel hop some.

I forgot about that too, but I've always said if you're wheel hopping,t hen you're launching too hard :)
And, Dino, my car drives around like that now, so the avenger springs for me won't really change how the car feels.
Also, with the huge wheel gap I now have with the smaller tires ont he car, what's another 1/2 an inch? :)

skunk2 drag launch kit in the front with some FAT disgusting wide trailing arms, super stiff motor mounts. stiff front shocks and full master bushing set from energy in the front. wide tires (235) with some hub centric wheel spacers and slicks. you're GOLDEN for a FWD launch. not to mention a LSD, CM stage 4 and a rev launcher _________ 96 talon esi-t san clemente, ca

rev limiter, he meant rev limiter. Also do you want your front shocks soft and your back hard?

I have the Tein Flex with adjustable edfc and the front is 1.9 while the back is a 1.5 drop. You can manually set the stiffness/softness with the edfc.

what about sway/strut bars on the front/back. i would imagine that stiffening the back all you can would be advantageous, and that perhaps a strut bar on the front would help keep both wheels equally plantedbut no one's really mentioned this, i guess they don't help that much.
a more expensive alternative to avenger springs might be getting a set of eibach sportlines and eibach prokits and using the prokits on the back and the sportlines on the front and selling the other pairs of springs you have, but sportlines are pretty low.
another thing is dropping the air pressure on your front tires some (but not too much cuz they add rolling resistance at higher speeds). this will help the tire "bite" but isn't reccomended for daily driving because it'll make them wear faster.
