It was a simple swap but after getting it all together and bleeding the brakes i noticed something. My brake pedal feels a little soft as i first press on it but, it firms up really quick about halfway down. Is this normal? I am sure i bled them properly so i dont think that is an issue.

dang, those are nice. what was the final total? i'll probably just use the stock GSX rotors to save money and upgrade to x-drilled/slotted later on. im hoping this isnt too expensive. ;) the pedal feel may be coming from the lines expanding. this is just me thinking, but an extra pot on each caliper might increase the pressure in the lines, causing expansion. SS lines might be a good idea for the near future. for the record, i know very little about hydraulic systems and rubber expanding...just thoughts. goodluck! :cheers

Good point about the SS lines i didnt think about that. Might have to invest in those soon. As for the total price... I got a sweet deal. Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors, Ceramix brake pads, New GSX calipers w/ brackets. Total out of pocket expense = $150 :P

dont know if this is out there or not but you may have a little air in your lines. i think you said you bled them though so i dont see how but you never know.

Did you bleed them correctly? I use a little container and a rubber tube, and just BARELY crack open the bleeder, pump the brakes, and on the last pump, close the bleed screw tight mid-pump. Then disconnect the rubber tube.

If you're sure they're bled correctly, you may just need to seat the pads. Break them in for 100 miles, and if the softness doesn't go away, rebleed them.

I used the same setup for bleeding ^^^ I will check them again soon. Thanks for the input guys... :thumbsup

The only way to insure that you get all the air out is to use two people.

^ very good point. same way with bleeding the clutch. found out the hard way. sucks when ur clutch pedal sticks to the floor...lol im gonna mail or IM you soon if u dont mind explaining the setup/install. thanks.

There was two of us... I actually bled the brakes so much i had to refill the resevoir twice.

I have my GSX brakes setup and the pedal got alot softer but about half way it would grab...grab pretty damn hard too. Well I bled the whole thing like twenty million times. Then I got some SS brake lines and bled the whole system the right way, starting at the passenger rear drum. I still got the same problem!...I dunno what it could be, the last alternative I'm gonna try is using a vacuum pump to suck out all the fluid. It might be the brake pads..I got ceramic ones, maybe they got glazed or somethin. Tell me if you find the problem cuz I've been stumped for months on it. Thanks
