whats the D.O.D of replacing brakes? My drivers side front is clikcing...which means its getting worn down. Any good sites to buy pads from? Which kind should i get? Any good brand...bad brands? Is there a certain size i need. etc etc.

I'm not sure what DOD stands for, but I'd start by pulling off the wheel and finding the "clicking". It may not be your brakes. I've seen dead creatures cause more noises than brakes. Anyway. If you do need brakes, and your not particularly hard on them, any decent semi-metalic pad works fine. If you like ultra quiet, then buy an organic pad but they will wear out faster than a semi-metalic. As for if you have drums: look at the rear brakes and then compare them to the front. If they look the same, then you have disc in the rear. If they are big, brown, and rusty: you have drums. I'd get a chiltons to step by step it and then ask questions here. Chiltons has good pictures in that section.

hmmm what do you mean clicking? as in a vibration? that means warped rotors, not worn pads. worn pads have a low pad indicator which will squeal as you brake, not "click". I'd say run with metal masters. yes, the pads are a special size. you have rotors on the front. I don't know what the rear brakes are like on your model - but dood it's easy just glance at it through your rim

looking at them will tell you your answer. But FYI, you have front discs. rear could be either.

I didn't think any Eagles came with rear drums, but I can be wrong. I've got a 95 ESI and it has rear disc. I've got metal masters like ez was suggesting and I like em but they're hard on rotors(or maybe I'm just hard on rotors lol). Do you hear the clicking all the time or just when you hit the brakes, or....? Brake pads will squeal when you hit the brakes when they're worn out, but I'm not sure about clicking, might be something else. If you hear the clicking all the time check your tires real well before investing in some new pads, you may have picked up a screw or something somewhere.

well my pads have been squealing as i stopped for a while now. and just recently started to click. this happened last time and i got new pads and it was fine. both front and rear are real rusty so does that mean i got disc in front and back?

Whats a good brand to get then?

If the rear looks remotely like the front then you have disc brakes. The squealing noise you hear is a little piece of metal hitting the rotor. If you waited long after the start of the sqealing you might need to get your rotors cut or possibly even replaced. As far as a clicking is concerned, can you feel vibration with the clicking? If so that could be a wheel bearing or a CV joint.
