Tokico shocks work well with them.

>Tein Super Street coilovers

You bought a full coilover system (springs/shocks/adjustable sleeve).

Only other "additional" things you should think about are sway-bars, strut bars, camber kits, and getting an alignment.

Yes, it's the full coilover system. I paid $1k and got them in three days. I bought them at autocarparts.com, but I am almost 100% sure you can find a cheaper place. So look around before buying, hehehe.

for $1400 you better hope they don't shit!

Here is what 1 vendor has to say about these coilovers:

Hello, it will be one year in December that I have been using the Tein SS
on my TSI. Before that I used the Tokico Illumina/Eibach Pro-kit set
up. The Tein's are simply amazing. Hands down the best suspension
decision I ever made.

neato. I can't wait to get them. This guy has them for $900 a set in stock for our cars, btw. Good or bad price? looks decent to me.

Man this setup sounds and looks great.

Just trying to put this in perspective here so bear with me. The only real advantage on a coilover system and a spring/adjustable strut package is ride height adjustablity with the coilovers....correct? 5 way adjustable struts Vs. 11 way with the coilovers.

I am all about a comfortable ride and love suspension setups, but other than what was stated above, what is the real difference in ride quality in the TEIN SS vs. Eibach/Illumina setup?

The ride quality and ajustability on Tokico Illuminas sounds like more than enough for most street applications, and the price of the TEINs plus the outragous price seems like overkill to me, for daily driving.

I am about to redo my suspension as well, because GR2's and Suspension Tech springs are not cuttin it at all.

Teins are built with the springs and shocks designed to work with each other not just for the car..

each shock is tested and desined to have the proper spring rates and valving in the shock, combining those with the right amount of preload on the shock gives you an exceptionally performaing RACE shock

the difference would be indy car and rally racing technology in the teins vers the oh i lowered my honda it rode good technology in the tokicos and springs combo

one shock belongs ona ferrai and one belongs ona honda if it was me id choose the shock built to the standards for a ferrai

when i rode and drove coppers car at lower 3"s it rode 100x times beter over bumps then any strut and spring combo ive been in it took up the bumps and never botomed out and did it smoothly...

and when you went around a corner it just plain stuck to the road as good as a rx7 or porsche

if you can spend the money get the teins you will never regret it....

>difference in ride quality in the TEIN SS vs. Eibach/Illumina setup?

I totally agree with MotoFool^! The Tein SS are a night and day difference. I have the Eibach/Illumina setup and it doesn't begin to compare to the Tein's. Find a 2g dsm equipped with Tein coilovers and ask for a ride. I took a ride in a 2g with the Type Flex and it was pure bliss :thumbsup

Cool. Thanks for the insight. I don't know anyone around here who would have TEIN Suspension but the analogy of Ferrai vs. a Honda puts it into perspective. Thanks again.
