Does your rear tire clear the fender? I have 225/40/18 and the edge of the tire and fender do meet under certain circumstances. I figure the lower you go the smaller the tire i will need. I don't want to do 16s unless i have too. I am looking for a 2" drop with 17s to be exact. Any help is appreciated on this matter.....

i have a little less than a 2" drop. eibach sportline springs, they're SO low. and 215/45-17 tires. i don't have any problems with rubbing.

About 2 post a somewhat similar post (still am)... I've got 16x8 rims & about 2 do < 3" drop looking 4 suggestions. Interested on tire sizes as well.

I have a 2" drop with 235/40/18 tires. my tires rubbed in the rear but after I got the camber fixed, they really did not go up high enough to rub. before that though I had to rol the rear fender and the tires did not hit then.

i have sportlines which is 2in drop and i have 215/50/17 no rub ever

2" drop on Sportlines with 215/45/17s and I couldn't make them rub if I had to

I guess it is time t switch to 17s then...this ride is getting way to rough for me on the 18s.......

if i were you, acquire a set of OEM FD3S (3g RX-7) rims. they look AWESOME. and they weigh NOTHING. your car will be faster because of the reduced rotational inertia and have a better ride quality because the tires will have a slightly higher profile.

i really want a set, but i don't have any money right now.

EDIT: i actually looked up and noticed that J has this setup.

There's a set of 3G RX7 wheels on dsmtrader at the moment, no price listed tho.

As ner947 said, I do have a set of 3rd Gen RX-7 rims that I'd highly recommend (not giving mine up ;) ). DSMTrader rarely has a set FS, go 4 the the 1's spread is talking about if U can, but I'd check ThePartsTrader.com. Just click on Mazda > Mazda Rotary > Wheels & Suspension. There's usually a@least 1 set on there FS @ all times, although I haven't checked myself right now.

U can Xpect 2 pay Btween $350 - $600 4 rims w/ tires. Price depending on the quality of tires. Got my buddy Sam a set w/ crap tires & 50% tread 4 like $400 & I bought mine w/ 4x brand new S02's, 2x <50% Yokohama, and the rims 4 $600. Usually your better condition rims will say no scrapes on caps or something like that as the paint does tend 2 chip off the plastic rather EZ.

If any1 here has shaved off the Mazda logo & painted it just flat I'd like 2 C a pic! I know some1 was going 2 way back when, I think.

Oh yeah, they're 16x8" rims & weigh 13lbs each. Have Fun!
