something new that blows away any setup that's been mentioned here.

i was researching susp parts for a new car and i came across some TEIN HA's coil oververs for DSMs. these would beat out any kind of spring/strut match you could throw at it.

to boot, they're about 1100. not bad at all considering what you get (full adjustable.) anyone who know's TEIN knows that this is the real deal. i may have some ordered for christmas.

Not bad at all for a true coilover. If JIC could just get their FLT-A2's into that price range.

I don't see listing for eclipse under HA catg. Where did you see them?

EDIT: ok found where i was. the HA's were for the 240. tein has BASIC and super street dampers for us priced at $750 and $1000 respectively. still a bangin product for a great price.

i'm prolly going to get the super streets. adjustable dampers seems to be the difference. i guess HA's would be a bit overkill since there's not much to say for handling with these cars when you compare to who tein caters to.

I guess superstreet it is for me aswell, but even then their products are priced very reasonably. specially the basic coilovers are for only 750. that's almost what you'd end up spending if you get a good set of shocks and a good set of coil overs.

Teins are ride height adjustable and the shocks have 16 way adjustability for ride firmness. They are a true coilover, which means the body of the shock itself is the coilover, with a threaded perch you can raise or lower to adjust the ride heigh to almost 3" lower. Because they're designed as coilovers, they differ greatly from the the traditional coilover/strut setup which suffer ride quality issues. Even at their best (ground control, etc) they still can't match the performance, handling, and ride quality of a true coilover. I've got my car about 2.5 inches lower than stock height, and ask the guys out there, anyone lowered that much is bound to have gripes about ride quality, bottoming out, and bouncing off the bumpstops. Hop in my car, and you'll feel the difference in a heartbeat. The ride is firm, but much much smoother. Bumps aren't bone-jarring, and I'm not constantly bottoming out or hitting the bumpstops. I have a friend with an S2000 with fairly respectable drop springs, and until you ride in my car, it feels fine...but when compared, my car makes it feel like he's got cut springs.

As for the firmness of the shocks, 16 settings may be exaggerated for most people, but I'm not gonna complain. Come on, we're metric guys...isn't it better to have 1-19 instead of 5/8, 1/2, 1/4, 3/16? I'm currently on setting 11 of 16. I first started at 8, and was really impressed, but felt like a few more steps couldnt hurt. 11 is where I'm happy, and I can take offramps like an indy car :)

Before you spend a dime on suspension, make sure you get a ride in a car with true coilovers. You're gonna spend just about the same amount and the difference is night and day. Tein has those new basic coilovers that are height but not damper adjustable, those are only 750. If nothing else get these...you'll be much, much happier when you do.

Does it come with EVERYTHING I would need? I mean as far as adjusting controls and such? Do these have to be adjusted from outside the car? Or do u get come sort of control?

they are adjusted on each shock..

the tein flex seris with EDFC has a din mounted electronic control for adjusting the shocks (hint hood mods are needed for this...)

Ok, I should have read what I just read off the Tein site before I posted above. So I guess this just adjusts the dampening while U still have to get out of the car and adjust the ride height. I was thinking this would be what I want to get because I wanted to be able to control ride height from inside car. But i also whated to have a nice smooth ride. I really don't have room in my car for a tank and or compressor for air ride so thats out. I am just afraid of bottoming out and shit....potholes etc.

ud be amazed at what 32 adjustable levels does to ride quality soft asa feather or hard asa rock...

but he wants in car adjustable ride height...and that can only be attained with air ride suspension. Sorry man, there's no other way to do it...

Damn, I know that some company made them for a few cars. I can't remember who, but it was a motor that was connected (by gearing) to the lower perch, and it would raise and lower each corner individually. Hydraulics also allow for in-car ride height adjustability, along with an "interesting" ride quality.

guys...are we that obsessed with changing the ride height? It takes 20 minutes to change the ride height if needed...jack the car up, adjust the perches, call it a day. Why would you spend all this money on motors that would move the perches? You, of all people Bill :)

If I lowered my car with any other means other than air ride...I wouldn't be able to pull into half of my families driveways (some of which live on busy roads where u cannot park) and most of my friends. It sucks so I wanted to be able to stop by out of nowhere without having to change height. I am thinking though that I don't care anymore. As long as I'm lowered and the ride is good and all...and I can do my best to avoid potholes and such then I will be fine.

coppers is dropped 3" it doesn't scrape that much at all, but hes gotta stock smile bumper too...

Yeah i think that I'm actually going to go with these and go with that. I figure that if I set it hard enough i won't have to worry about bottoming out so much as potholes.
