i lowered my car on sportlines and tokico blues a couple months ago and did the camber job in the rear and the rear creeks like a mother fucker, any time i like take a right turn and the rear tire goes over a bump or something, or say i go over a speed bump it creaks like an old see saw. Did i not tighten something all the way? should i spray it down w/silicone grease or wd-40?

did you get the camber kit that has the offset polyurathane bushings. if so i would relube the bushings. not long after i put on my ES bushings, the ones that i didn't lube enough started creaking.

no i didn't change any bushings, i just did the 15 dollar job

Mine did that too. But now its either stopped, or i just cant hear it anymore. I think it has to do with your new suspension settling and all the rest of the joints and bushings getting used to their new positions. At first it drove me crazy but now its gone.

my front creks and the back creeks too! the front i used the ingalls camber kit with the polyurithane bushings. I have the same setup as you tokico blue and sportlines and i have the same noise also. so i guess its normal.

I'd like a bit more input on this one if nobody minds.

I've got the creak/squeak coming from the rear of the car lately. Chassis has over 200k on it, Sportlines and GR2s are less than 2yrs old. DIY camber mod has been done. Camber sitting around -1.7* at both rear wheels.

Symptoms seem worst when cold (below 50*). I can sit in the car with the engine off, in gear, with parking brake set, rock the car back and forth, and hear a nice, loud creak. It's that rubber-against-something-smooth creak and it also makes the noise going over speed bumps.

There is no clunking whatsoever.
"Bouncing" the car by pushing down on the body from outside does not cause the noise.

Should I consider getting one of the master bushing kits, considering how old the car is? Or should I WD40 some bushings in the rear wheel wells.

I'm a bit leery of using petroleum products on old, rubber bushings, but if you guys tell me it's a good idea, then I'll give it a shot. This is more annoying than anything else.

I used WD-40 to narrow down which BJ was squeaking in the front of m car, by spraying the boot full of it one at a time. WD-40 will eventually dry out. I have used the white lithium grease on squeaks like that as well. I think it is your call.

No, don't use petroleum based lubes on rubber. It will deteriorate them very quick. If you ever need to lube rubber, use a silicone grease.

If you're squeaking/creaking w/ stock bushings, and no polyurethane, I'm willing to bet you haven't broken all your suspension bolts loose, and re-torqued them with the suspension in the loaded position. If you haven't a lot of those bushings are loaded when the suspension is in a neutral state.

If you don't like the creak, don't get polyurethane bushings. I put a Prothane Total Kit on about a year and half ago with generous amounts of the "super grease" it comes with, and going over any dip, speed bump, etc... it is very loud, I need to re-lube them.

That's what I was thinking. Just hard to grease a bushing after it's installed unless there's a zerk in there, ya know?

Well, this suspension was installed over two years ago with no squeaking. The most recent changes to the system were going from a set of 17" GSX wheels back there to a set of 16" ESi wheels with R55s on them. The car has also been through snow and ice for the first time in over five years.

I wonder if the cold weather allowed an old, worn bushing to shrink sufficiently to change position slightly. Who knows. I'm torn on the bushings, because I'm looking to keep Daisy smooth and comfy, but I'll never give up my XtremeRS solid front motor mount. I love feeling the car do it's thing. So maybe urethane bushings would be a good idea...

Mine creaked... I used WD-40 and drove around a bit, then put another round on... works like a charm, squeak free.

Yeah, it is a pain in the ass to take things apart just to lube them. I would check the auto parts store for some kind of areosol spray, and then if they don't, a little wd-40 shouldn't be to harmful.

for rubber bushings better than wd40 is silicon spray lube, get it at any parts store for <$5, lasts a LOT longer than wd40, also good for cv boots! 160k+ and still on factory cv's. for poly bushings get some marine grease, it doesn't wash out over time like regular grease does (it will eventually but at about 2-3 times the lifespan)
