Posted by jZa, Apr-21-01 05:00 AM
i've been hearing that these give really bad ride on 2g's. i have some on order and if this is so i want to either cancel the order or just sell them before installing. the springs i got are progress 1.4" or so drop.

I wouldn't say the ride is too rough if you like a car that can perform as well as mine can on a neuspeed 1.4 inch drop and kyb agx shocks. I love the way it rides. I also have 2 front upper tie bars and rear upper and lower tie bars so that helps. If you are buying these shocks cause you want a WELL PERFORMING, WELL HANDLING car with a COMFORTABLE RIDE then don't get them, but if you don't care about the comfort part, like me, then get the agx. The only thing a want to change is my springs. I want to get rid of these neuspeeds and get some coilovers.

i don't mind giving up a little some ride comfort, but i don't want the car to be all bouncy and stuff and there's a lot of places around here where the roads are teh pits.
thanks

Good shocks won't really be bouncy, just stiff. It will follow the road more, so once you hit a bump, it will hit hard once, and then stop bouncing. So it won't really bounce, just be a rougher ride.

Yes they are quite excellent. You'll be able to easily car corners, I leave them turned up all the way, just try not to drive over bumps too fast or too slow. They are really good!

A agree there smooth enough when set soft but really at there best when set stiff and ride is still good enough to me. Shucks I take corners with bumps that used to throw my powersteering belt nearly 15-20mph faster and with worse tires. I love them in the corners.

I've been very happy with my AGXs. They are not too much stiffer than stock on the lowest settings, and VERY stiff on the highest settings so there is a good range of adjustability.

But, I have them on stock springs. They have less travel than stock shocks and are probably not good to use on cars which are really slammed.

thanks a lot. yeah i heard that once you drop lower than like 1.3" or so is when they start sucking due to them being like an inch differnce from stock ones. what kind of springs do you guys have?
i guess i may have to ditch the progress cause i've heard people say they could drop the car as much as 1.75"! on they're website it says like 1.4 though and i've heard people say like 1.3 even. dern it why so much confusion :( maybe i'll just get slip overs and just drop 1"
