ok ive got a set of 17" gsx that im planning on putting on my avenger in a week or so, and im wondering actually how big of a tire i can actually put on them width wise. tirerack is saying a 215/50/17 is stock and i was wondering if a 225 would fit...tia guys and sorry for the dumb ?

Well, according to that OEM wheel website that someone posted in this section a while back, it says that the 97 GSX rims are only 6.5" wide. So personally I would stick with 215's.

if your stock height, 235s would fit also

damn, that seems really wide for such a narrow rim(it is a 6 1/2" rims as stated by BoostedGS), would i run into any problems running either that or a 225. and another dumb ?, would a 45 series look ok, versus the 50 series since im not lowered?

I could have sworn the GSX rims are 17x7 considering that the GS rims are 16x7.

And I'd go with 50 series, but that's just me. I really dont like skinny tires on 17s, esp in our fenders.

nope GS rims are 16x6.5 abd GSX rims are also 17x6.5 i have 225/45 on mine and i have never ran into problems.

GS rims are 16X6. RS are 14X5.5. i think gsx is 6.5 wide
