18655, how hard to install lowering springs? Posted by Twiste, Jun-29-03 08:27 PM Im going to go buy Eibach Prokits within the next 2 days and was wondering if i should install myself cause the cheapest i can find around here is $64 a spring and then alignment is another $50. Anyone know the difficulty and tools needed? TIA... | |

I would leave yourself a full day, if not two days in case you end up stripping a bolt (like me) or something like that. Yea, corbin's write-up is the bomb. | |

Posted by eclipse_gs_1512, Jun-30-03 10:27 AM do it yourself and save some cash. i did it my first time without a spring compressor....but that doesn't mean you won't need one. I would suggest doing the rear ones first to get an idea of what you're doing. | |

Posted by fauchpj, Jul-03-03 09:39 AM the hardest part is the damn spring compressors. if you dont have air tools, they are a bitch to do. me and gorko did my whole car in about 8 hrs. it wouldnt have taken so long if my car wasnt being a bitch. a bolt wouldnt go back on. also have plenty of WD-40 on hand | |

Posted by mitsuman297, Jul-03-03 09:05 PM i read it was really easy so I tried to do it about a month back and fought with the strut for at least 3 hours trying to get that bolt off on the top. I used wd-40 and lots of it and the damn thing still wouldn't come off. But getting the actual spring/strut off the car is easy. Good luck bro | |
