18210, Coilover Sleeve Question
Posted by JksEclipse95, Jun-04-03 06:52 PM
I got a chance to get Reactive coilovers for a really good price. The catch is that one of them needs a new aliminun sleeve. I have no idea what that is or how expensive this would be to get or where to get this. I would assume to call reactive and ask them, but I don't want to sound like an idiot cause I dont really know what I'm talking about

Can I put coil overs on with factory struts or thats a bad idea?

A coilover sleeve is a threaded sleeve with two rings that fits over the shock. The coilover spring rests on the rings, which can be rotated to either raise or lower the vehicle.

I wouldn't get them unless you're getting them REAL cheap... like close to free. I think I've seen them on eBay for around $100 new.

To buy an extra coilover sleeve you would probably have to order it directly from Reactive... and more than likely that's gonna be expensive. If I were you I'd save up for Ground Controls or Skunk2s... I've heard a lot of good things about them.

You can, but don't expect your shocks to last very much. Coilovers demand a lot from a shock due to their stiffer spring rates. I had Arospeed coilovers on stock shocks and front-right shock busted about 4 months later.
