ok, well i got my goldlines yesterday and i goto install them today.
i try and get this off...

and the bolt behind the one you get off with a socket is totally rounded out. (woops)
i know there is another bolt like this below it, but is there anyway i can still install the springs w/out getting this part off?

ok, i looked on mitsubishiparts.com and they have it listed as "Link" and it like 18 dollars, you think i can just buy one and grind off the old one some how?

I'm a little confused as what your working on. Can you get the strut out? I saw that you're working on the front and that you didn't undo the sway bar. I'd try undoing the sway bar to give some room for the strut assembly when it comes out.

Short answer: probably not. I installed my goldlines about a week ago. You need to get that off to get the damper fork and strut out. I didn't have any problem with that particular bolt though. That was actually one of the easiest ones to get off if I remember correctly. I didn't even use the wrench behind it, just the socket to get the bolt off. Anyways I hope this helps. If you need anything else, let me know cause like I said I just installed goldlines on stock struts last weekend

I can tell you right now that it does NOT need to come off. When we installed my springs (me, OZ_GS, and my brother-in-law) the bolt for the sway bar link was rounded out just like you mention. Well, I was able to switch out the springs/shocks with it still on. So IMO and OZ_GS can back me, it doesn't have to be off.

That bolt is a PITA!! I bought front and rear sway bars off an AWD, and they still had the end links attached because the shoulders were rounded off the bolts. I ended up having to cut it off with a dremel.

Yeah, I am going to have to cut mine off too. I am going to replace them with these.
