18064, help w/tires on da srt-4 Posted by vegasdsmr, May-30-03 01:09 PM
the srt-forums remain in my "aint got shit" folder.....
i posted there regarding widest tire sizes/wheel spacer sizes, and to no avail, i just got flamed by some idiots....
so, my fellow brethren....
i need help...
i have 2 16x8 rims, and i want to slap the widest tire on em i can...
im thinkin 275/50/16, but do not know if i will have clearance issues w/the strut....
if any tire guys can offer any links/assistance, i am, as always, greatly appreciated......
also, it looks like i will need a spacer... the rim does clear the caliper, and it sticks outta the fenderwell slightly...
im not interested in looks, just droppin my 60 foot times, and bein able to get traction in 1st and second...
thanks

what's your OE size? for 16x8's 225 50 is usually as wide as you can go safely. give me your OE size and i can tell you what would work.
also i beleive the SRT's come with 17's. make sure those 16's will clear the brakes and etc before you go putting tires on them.

already test fitted em..... ;-)
the OE size are 17x6, i think 225/40/17zr tires.....
with the 16x8" rims, they stick outta the fender slightly... i am just curious as to whether i can actually fit a wide ass tire on it cuz the strut and the strut assembly come very close....
i may have to use a spacer...
thanks for your reply amish... them srt-4 forums dont konw shiotttttt

I personally wouldn't go over a 255 on a 8" wheel.
