by definition struts are hydraulics based on a compressed liquid and shocks are the same based on compressed gas. this definitino fails cause not all peices stay true to that idea. it's also generally accepted that trucks have shocks and cars have struts. i beleive an accurate description would be any vehicle using the Macpherson Strut design would be using a "strut" where anything else would be a shock.
we use struts. our front suspension is macpherson strut design.
