Well I have had a missin stud in my rear for a good while now, since school is out this week, I guess I'll attempt it, as long as I dont have to mess with the brakes. So can anyone help me out with some information?

Hate to tell you this but you need to remove your brake caliper.

Remove Brake Caliper (Two bolts)
Remove Brake Rotor (no bolts holding it, just take it off)

Get your new stud and put it into place. With the stud in place, screw a lug on to the stud. Screw it until the stud is firmly in place, don't need to screw it on tight.



*notice the cup full of broken studs/lugs :)

you have to take off your calipers?? I remember I didn't take mine off when I replaced mine. Both times I didn't take mine off.. I just took off the wheel and popped out the broken one with a hammer and placed the new one in position, placed a socket over the lug on the other side and wrenched it into position.

most places will tear everything down to prevent damagine it from hammers or air chisels. you're supposed to pull the new stud into place by torquing the lugs onto it so it will pull it in from behind. every time i've seen it done this way they used an air gun with a low torque extension. "torque sticks" as we call them in our shop.
