OK, So I haven't had the recall work done. I called and asked my dealers service center, and they said I was an inspection only. No parts were replaced.

I just got off the phone with them, and they would not schedule me to replace the ball joint. They said my inspection showed "no failing parts." In fact, the guy laughed at me when I told him I was told that all cars get new parts whether they appear to be failing or not.

Is this true? If not, what should I do to persue this?

I heard that they were required to inspect them, and replace if necessary at no cost to you. Mine were bad and replaced.

Uhm...yeah...they are dicks in the shops, but the new rule is if they haven't been replaced to replace them. Period. Mitsubishi learned that inspection doesn't mean shit and they can still fail even if they look okay.

See, the problem is they used poor quality steel when they made those ball joints and they can actually break. Now, do you know anyone who can look at a steel part and tell what quality the metal is? No.

A recall is a court order for the replacement of specific part nomatter how it looks or performs. Even if it appears to be fine, Mitsubishi is under the obligation to remove it and replace it.

actually MMA probably wont do anything and give you as much hassle as satan

Be prepared for more rejections. A few years ago I was told, " It's taken care of." Well this past Jan. one went. I went to dealer, they checked, no recall or record of any done. I was told that was on a per VIN number recall, not all cars done. If so it was a one time thing and I had to pay to replace $155 the damaged one. They gave me this sheet with info from Mitsu, supposely, they ran, that had a recall section, that read: NONE. So I was left out in the loop. You may or may not be able to get them to do it. You can never know when dealing with them...x(
