okay im in the middle of upgrading to my gsx dual piston caliper brakes, but im having serious fitment problems. caliper bracket and caliper are put together and bolted on. it seems when i bolt on the caliper bracket that the opposite side of the rotor is not staying on, hence when i try to put the wheel on i cannot get it on because the rotor is not on completely. also it seems like the rotor doesnt even fit right. these are stock gsx rotors. another thing did anyone keep the brake dust cover on because the rotor is extremely close to touching it and probably will rub against it. anyone know whats goin on???

The rotor will be loose until you get pressure in the caliper. I too noticed the dust guard was close, I had to bend it a little to make sure it was out of the way. Not sure what your problem is, are you sure you have the right rotors?

its not that the rotor is loose, when i tighten the caliper bracket down so that it is on the rotor tightens up and doesnt stay on straight, its on slightly crooked. i tryed holding the rotor on straight and tightening and it still pops back out n locks.

it really seems like the brakes dont even fit at all, but everything bolts up correctly, im havin a hell of a time tryin to figure this out. is there a special way to bolt the caliper bracket on?

Here are a bunch of pics from when i did mine. Make sure you are using the bracket from the GSX calipers and not the bracket from the original calipers. Maybe these pics will help you figure out whats wrong. also make sure you use anti-seize on the bracket bolts that the caliper slides on, or else the caliper could bind up on the rotor.

okay the problem is when i tighten the caliper bracket down on the left side the bracket is hitting the rotor and causing the left side of the rotor to lock up, i have tried keeping the rotor free while still being able to tighten the bracket down and have failed several times, im starting to think somethings wrong with the bracket or they dont fit.

heres a picture of the rotor to clarify if its a gsx rotor or not.

I dont even know what that^^^^^^ is!! IS that seriously the rotors you are using?? If its not the GSX rotor it wont work. They are quite obviously larger in diameter. Check out my pics to see the diference in size.

no still not figured out, i gave up for the day. that picture is one of the rotors im puttin on, i need to clean the slight rust on it, but they are not nearly as bad as the pic makes them look like.

like i said i cant keep the rotor from staying free while tightening the caliper bracket on. i have all day tomorrow to figure it out so ima be trying for sure.

Try to get a picture of where you are having the problem if you can. I am not trying to be a dick, but make sure everything is on the right side and nothing is put on backwards. I don't know if it makes a difference if the calipers are on the right or the left side, but they are listed as different part numbers so it would make sense to make sure.

The calipers are definantly directional and are not interchangeable. The rotors I bought were slotted and cross drilled so they were directional and came with a right and a left also. Make sure your pads are securly seated in the caliper so they dont push on the rotor.
Try measuring the diameter of the rotors you are putting on and see if they are larger than the rotors you took off. They should be larger. It should be noticeable.

they are larger without a doubt i could tell the difference between the stock and gsx rotors.

if i had a digital camera i would take some pics to show ya what im talkin about but i dont :(

well i got them on finnaly, so i have to use my stock rotors for the time being until i get some money for rotors. suggestions anyone??

I know you can get stock-ish GSX rotors from NAPA for about $30.

They're not very bling-bling, but they work! :-)

yes they do work... thats what I have basically and they even held up at the local road track :)

hehe thanks for the napa shoutout, thats probably what i will end up doing since i dont have a lot of money to be throwin around at the moment.
