17077, Swapping struts, what to do?

Alright, gonna put on my lowering springs tomorrow. I just got my new struts in today - but I noticed I need the top part (that goes into the strut tower, from the old struts. How hard is it to swap this part off the old struts and onto the new ones?
Anyone got instructions? PLEASE! :)
