1690, need advice on lowering
Posted by teatinger, Apr-13-01 12:00 PM
hey guys,
what is the best way to lower my 98 gs? i only want 1 inch lower, im afraid any lower would almost ruin it driveablility, i live in a neighbor hood with lots of dips and speed bumps. ive also thought about lowering just the front 1/2 to an inch, just for that more aggresive "hot rod" look. any ideas? how hard is it to install a coil over?
thanks

thomas

Hehe I had just my front lowered for like 3 days because I didnt have time that day to finish lowering my rears even though the rears are cake. It actually looked pretty good with the front down 2" and the rear stock. Hey no laughing now, it actually did look pretty good because the front looked soooo damn low with just the rear up. I though that when I was going to lower I only wanted like an inch or so and no more, but after I got it lowered its like "damn I wish I was lower". Its hard to explain. You should try intrax springs or else something like H&R or pro kits. I have the intrax springs and they lowered about ~1.75 inches. It seems like a perfect blend between pro kits and sportlines. I just say a set of intrax springs on ebay for like $95. They are the most expensive springs at newedgeracing.com, they go for like $250. Anyway if you want any pictures or want to ask any more questions you can email me or find me on AOL or ICQ.

Well if you wanna lower your car you should do the whole deal all at once if you got the cash. Like Springs and Shox. The reason most people scrape are because they're shox are too soft or worn out. I have Skunk2 coilovers and KYB AGXs and I lowered my car 2 inches and I still have a 3 finger gap. I'll say this 2Gs are hard to slam unless you got like 17 or 18 inch rims. I lowered it 1 and a half inches and I'm all damn doesn't even look lowered. So I lowered it to 2 inches and it still doesn't look slammed but I'm happy with the handling. Shox are good also, I also must say that coilovers (well skunk2s) are pretty tight, I really wanna lower it the whole 4 inches but I'm worried about camber.
