Is $175 + $12 shipping a good price for FR and RR Stillen Sway Bars? What else will I need if I order these. How much to install on my RS. I've never had sway bars before. They are on sale @ stillen.com

edit: nevermind, they are for turbo's only.

Nevermind what? Turbo and NT swaybars are the same (well, a little thicker). GST sway bars would bolt right up to a gs. RS would need all the mounting parts.

It should come with all the parts to install. If you have a gs, just switch out the bars, and replace the bushings (that should come with the stillen sway bars). I am still thinking about getting these, so I'll keep 2gnt updated on this.

For 137 bucks you can find a suspension techniques .75" rear sway bar. The ST front sway bar is the same size as stock. Our front bar is pretty good size anyway, unless you are really serious about competing or something I would just leave it alone. I found my ST rear bar on ebay for 120 shipped.

You have to remember, a bar, depending on material and shape could be stronger (or weaker) when compared to another bar of same size.

It might not hurt to dish out another 50 bucks to get a set a bars that perform as good, if not better then stock bars.

If not, the ST bar seems like the way to go. FasterGS wouldn't lie. :thumbsup

You know, someone else brought that to my attention too. Don't get me wrong, I have never heard a bad thing about replacing the front bar. Everyone I talked to that has the RMDSM sway bar set absolutely loves it. I just don't think you will notice much of a difference unless you are racing, whether it be auto-x or road racing. I ran my car last year and was faster around the track than a AWD Talon... (automatic). And all I had done at that point was the springs and struts. I dunno... just trying to save someone some money I guess. Use that 50 bucks for gas or something LOL.

So you guys, I HAVE AN RS. AN RS... Are you saying I can order these? I dont currently have any sway or strut bars. If they dont come with any other hardware (besides the bars themselves) will a performance shop be able to install them and what might they charge me either way? ~TIA~

read this page:
http://www.rernetworking.com/rmdsm/stabilizerbars.html

you will have to get the supporting parts for the rear sway bar. it's a decent sum of money, but it's worth it. a rear sway bar will make a world of difference.

Check the links on 2gnt main page, in the tech section there should be a link on how to add a rear sway bar in. I think it's one of corbin's write-ups.

If you have an RS you need these parts listed in this link. You should really check the main 2gnt.com site for links to topics that have been discussed for years. It would save time for you and us.

http://www.2gnt.com/www/corbin/sway.html

The RS has a 16mm front swaybar and no rear bar.
The GS has a 18mm front swaybar and a 13mm rear bar.
The GS-T has a 19mm front swaybar and a 15mm rear bar.
The GSX has a 19mm front swaybar and a 18mm rear bar.

There are many sites out there that have misinformation.

It is really best to buy swaybars in pairs when upgrading. If you plan on leaving the 16mm RS front bar, then I would just get a 15mm GS-T rear bar. My car was very neutral when I had this setup. It does require better struts/higher spring rates to keep from leaning, but this is another topic.

If people would comment with good/correct information when they post, it would help others a great deal. Large/Big does not really say much when it comes to sizing. If you do not really know, then say so or do not comment.

I was called on the carpet by a fellow 2gnt member. I guess my last sentence did come out a bit harsh. I do apologize if it was too strong. Thanks for the professional PM and keeping it off the board.
