anyone using these tires?? if so what do you think.. it's about that time for me to get new tires!! i live in the seattle area so i need tires that will perform well in wet and dry roads..

I'm not that impressed with Pirelli personally. I think their tires are slightly over priced and give a half ass performance. Plus, mine wore out really quick.

Check out the Dunlop SP Sport FM901's....mmmm, yummmy.

Otherwise, for wet and dry I would recommend Kumho ECSTA or Falken FK-451's.

pirelli's are a mediocre tire with a premium price tag. most large stores push them because of large commission rates. for a high quality tire look at michelin. dunlops and yoks are good too.

actually for the money you can get a good tire in the kuhmos. inexpensive good tire IMO.

I had the Pirelli P7000 Super Sport when I lived in Minnesota. It was really nice in snow and cost me $111.00 each (205/60/16)

Now that I live in Texas, I have Khumo Ecsta Supra 712 (225/45/17) and love them. A Lot cheaper and they are awesome in the rain.

I went ahead and got the Dunlop SP 5000 about a week ago. $100 each for 205/55/16 from www.tirerack.com


So far my impression of the Dunlop SP5000 is very good but keep in mind I just came off a very worn set of stock rubber (Goodyear Eagle RS-A). The sidewalls are a lot stiffer. The thread is noticeably stickier; the car seems to stop a lot quicker now. The turns are a lot more fun now.

It rained pretty heavily this past weekend and the tires did great. I hardly noticed the huge puddles we get here in RI. The car didn’t hydroplane except for one very large puddle I didn’t notice and hit rather hard.

The tires seem about as loud as the stock Goodyear, maybe a bit louder.

I'll let you know how they do in the snow after tonight (expecting another 4"-8" by this evening).

Tirerack.com rates the Dunlops very well. As far as Ultra-High Performance All-Seasons the rated the Michelin Pilots best (but significantly more expensive than the rest), Dunlop #2 and Pirelli 7000 #3

thanks for some of the responses guys... i did some more research and decided to go with the Sumitomo HTR+. There were a few tires i really wanted to get but weren't available in anything bigger than 17's. I have 225/40/18.
