Posted by mike_d, Apr-09-01 09:35 AM
i have 215/45/17, the only thing on the tire that i could see was it said do not excede 40 psi to seat the beads or something along those lines. my question is how much air should i put in them?

when in doubt with a regular tire (i.e. not a spare) is 30 psi

Normally I would say stick with the stock inflation rates. But what is recommended for our rear is low as far as I am concerned (28 psi) I inflate to 35psi all the way around, on my 14". I was planing on doing the same when I get tires for my 17"s.

I would over-inflate your rears, maybe 45psi.
and under-inflate the fronts... maybe 20psi.

This is what I would try... but maybe one of the guys who goes to the track often would have something that has worked better.

For normal day driving I would go between 30 & 35psi cause the tires will inflate when they warm up specialy on a hot day.
