Right now I'm leaning towards the Dunlop SP 5000 at about $130 each. Does anyone have a better suggestion?

Have you looked at the yokohama avid H4s?

The yokohamas look good, but I've heard they tend to get noisy as the wear. Are you running Yokohomas?

If you need a ALL SEASON TIRE then I recommend:

Pirelli P7000 SUPER SPORT (Around $111.00 each)

I had 4 when I was living in Minnesota and they were awesome during Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.

Now I live in TX and have Khumo Ecsta Supra 712's (225-45-17)

I run those H4s, a great all around tire. I haven't noticed an abnormal noise yet either. I even went road racing on mine and they are still alive! lol

I actually purchased the yokos b/c I heard they were quiet. I think they are very quiet (much more than the stock 14s - those things howled like a ghost on each corner) but unfortunately the enkei shoguns I have make noise as they spin.

my fav performance all season tires are SP5000's and michelin pilot sport all season's

the pirelli's usually suck hense the competitive price from pirelli. H4's are more all season than performance. in my opinion go with the dunlops a z rated rain tire has to be good. plus i've installed lots and everyone loves them. unless you have some money to burn cause michelin pilot A/S's are the best tire ever.

the dunlops are ok, but dunlops arent the best for all-season. the yokos are good....and the h-rating is nice cuz its still stable at 130mph:) the mich pilot a/s is awesome tho, but if im correct they wear faster than the yokos

I just don't think that "best" and "all season" go together. I think that the best alternative is a set of Blizzaks on some steel rims, and some summer Z rated tyres on a set of wide rims. That's just me, though. I have heard good things about the Yokos, though.

i would have to say im with the1bill cuz thats what i do, and i literally 'plow' my alleyway cuz i get good traction in 2 feet of snow

I ran the Yoko Avid H4's and LOVED THEM wet and dry. And you have to remember in FL, we get FLOODS from the sky, not rain. I never had a problem with hydroplaining or skidding when you put on the brakes with the H4's but the Toyo FZ4's that I had after that SUCKED BALLS!!!! They were as bad as my stock 14's in the rain and the dry traction sucked too! I also ran the Ecsta Supra's and they had excellent dry traction and they were not that bad in the rain but I didn't get to run them that long before I sold the car.

Ideally I would get a set of summer and winter tires, but I would have no place to store the spare set if I move back to an apartment (which I may have to come July). I'll have to take a good look at the Yoko's since everyone seems to be raving about them.

Goodyear KDWS!! Went through a Maine winter with no problems!

I just bought some Yokohama Avid V4 for my Audi. The ride is great. Don't know how it compares to the H4 but the price was $330 shipped for four. :thumbsup

I know they're not really considered an all-season tire, but I've been very satisfied with my Nitto 450 Extreems. I've had a set through 3 winters now, 1 winter in Colorado and never had any traction problems. We just had a terrible snow storm here in Missouri and with over 1 foot of snow, I had no trouble getting around, even with a 2.5" drop. So, if you're looking for a performance tire that does VERY good on snow and ice, consider those Nittos. I paid $89 for 17s and $119 for 18s, including warranty.
