15555, Can I get cheaper tires? Posted by mrlocalpimp, Feb-08-03 11:09 AM
I have 205/55/16 on my wheels. Does that mean its the only tire my car will take? Ive always wondered this. Its the 97 gs 5 spoke rim. Does a wheel only take one size?

no, tires have a minimum and maximum rim width size, but you can fit other sizes of 16" on there. you can have a lower profile, etc...

Right, thats what I meant. Are there other 16" tires I can get that are cheaper than 205/55... If anyone knows an exact size let me know.

Thanks! It appears although some tires are shorter/taller, the 205/55/16's are the cheapest, right in the middle. Thanks

What specific tire are you looking at? I recently got Yokohama's AVS ES100 @$77 a piece. Not many other cheaper tires that can compare to these. I'd recommend them for dry and light wet conditions, but NO snow! :nono I got them from The Tire Rack.
