I probably need new front rotors and need new pad all the way around and instead of just getting OEM replacements from Autozone or something I am gonn go crazy and get cross drilled/slotted rotors all the way around and Performance friction pads....

My questions are.... What brands should I be looking at for rotors and pads and where is the best place to get them?

Also can most places turn slotted/drilled rotors for when I have to replce the pads next or do you have to send them out or something??

yea, it's like crack. I feel guilty if i don't go to the hookup shop for more than a week. People like us put their kids through college.

get the AEM big brake kit, or just the rotors, the rotors alone come with a kit to refix the caliper

I've heard that the AEM rotors warp really easily. Don't know for a fact, just what I'm told.

My buddy has a GSX with the kit and I've never heard him complain, and they look fqn schweet with his 18" Konig Imagines

Performance: Stuff that makes my car run better or go faster

Looks: Stock because looks doesnt make my car go faster or run better

Weight Reduction: CF Hood, No A/C or Powersteering Accessories, No rear interior

I have heard Stoptech and Wilwood and Brembo are excellent...I havent heard anything good about AEM...there is another I heard good things about but i forget the name

Yeah the big brake kit may be a bit out of my price range. I suppose I should have mentioned that in my post I have about $350 to spend for everything. I am willing to spend a bit more for good quality but not too much...The AEM kit is about 5-600 from what I have seen for front and back.

Go on ebay, you can get Brembo front and rear drilled, slotted rotors for like $190

Or like was posted in my thread about brakes, and which i posted in the other thread about brakes, call Wood at www.Raceconcepts.net and tell him you are from ASOG/2GNT and he will hook you up with serious deals on rotors and pads. They have front crossdrilled/slotted rotors for $80 and rears for $70. and AXXIS metalmaster pads for $40. 4 SS brake lines for $85.
Not a bad deal at all... Better than ebay by far.

i even saw the arospeed kit that looks really nice, the front big brake kit with something like 12inch rotors, i think thats my next upgrade. the whole kit is like 299. I think thats my next mod along with the rear disc conversion because stock RS brakes plain old SUCK. I just got new pads on and it still feels terrible. If you have a GS you should just go with nice braided lines in the back with good pads, and get a brake kit upfront. thats just my 2 cents. goodluck

chad, get on www.kcsr.org (local kc ppl) and find mrcooley, awile back he said he could get all 4 brembo cross dilled/slotted rotors for like 270, check with him. mmmm Brembo:thumbsup

I see an auction for all 4 brembo on ebay for like 210 or so.....

Any idea what brand of rotors the Race Concepts guy sells for that price??

EDIT: Nevermind looks like they are using Brembo blanks and machining them.

Well I ordered my rotors and pads from Raceconcepts .....

Total comes to $275 for everything shipped.

I will let you all know how they are after I get them on.

Cool! Sounds like we are all doing brakes this/next week! I am waiting for my GSX calipers and new Raceconcept rotors and pads to arrive. I cant wait to put them on. I will post pictures of the install and finished product.

Since you all are talking brakes, still love my gsx setup. Sometime in the future I need to upgrade rotors and pads as I have stock GSX stuff on.
