14845, Wheels are straight, but steering wheel is crooked....

Ok so I just got my alignment done, and on the way home from the place, I notice that even tho im travling straight my steering wheel is slightly turned to the right, I was a dumb ass and didnt go back to the alignment shop and tellem to fix it...so is there anything I can do? Like jack up the front of my car with both tires off the ground and have a buddy inside the carhold the wheel straight while I turn the tires in/out? Or will this just damage it?

Dude, its a car, not a bicycle! Take it back to them and make them fix it. IMO if you have to have your steering wheel turned to go straight then it hasn't been properly aligned.

They'll have to readjust the bolts at the tie rod ends, then check that the steering wheel is centered. It's not something you can adjust yourself without screwing up the alignment.
I've been meaning to go get an alignment to fix that very problem ever since I replaced the rack and pinion myself a year ago. However I haven't had any irregular tire wear and it doesn't vibrate until after 80mph... so blah.
But yea, go back and tell them to get it right. If they got competent workers there it should be no problem. :)

they're supposed to straighten the wheel for you when they do the alignment. lazy shop imo. go back and tell them to straighten it, FOR FREE! don't pay them again to do something they shoulda done to begin with.

one of the signs of a car that's out of alignment is a steering wheel that isn't straight or that has to be held off center to go straight.
