I recently installed some Sportlines and Tokico "Blues" on my 98 Eclipse. The problem i have is that i have about 3/4 of an inch bigger gap in the back left fender than i do in the back right. The back right is sitting where it's supposed to, about on finger gap away from teh fender. The back left is about two and a half fingers gap from the fender. They've been on for about 2 weeks, so if any settling occured, it should have happened. I'm getting ready to fix the back camber, so i can get a look at the shocks and spring and see if i can notice anything. Any ideas on what could be wrong? TIA.

maybe an issue with the bump stops?

the only bumpstops i cut were the front ones, i left the back bumpstops uncut. It's pretty confusing.

I dunno about blues, but on illuminas, the instructions say to cut all 4 bumpstops roughly in half. It also says warranty is void if u don't. (How would they really know) But I'm guessing that leaving the back ones could shorten the lifespan of the struts and probably won't really give u the travel u need.

Check everything on the bottom side and make sure everything is installed the same. Maybe the rear left strut is blown? I think I had a little more gap than 1 finger. Or maybe the rear left is sitting too high underneath somewhere? check things out. Push down on the back and see if the rear left bounces any more than the right.

There's bumpstops on the back? I don't remember cutting bumpstops on the back of my car. :wary Plus, if he didn't touch both rear bumpstops (not that i remember any :9), then they would be sitting at the same height

Have you jacked the car up and made sure the spring is sitting properly on the perch? Maybe when you tightened down the bolt on the top of the struct that holds the springs down, you tightened one more then the other?

Ok people, last time we go over this. Cutting or not cutting the bump stops makes NO DIFFERENCE IN RIDE HEIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Your car does not sit on the bumpstops. Bumpstops do exactly as the name would suggest, when you hit a bump the rubber stopper stops the strut from bottoming out completely. If your car was riding on the bumpstops you would have no cushion at all. When you cut the bumpstop all you are doing is giving the shock more travel, so it doesn't bottom out as much.

Check the springs to make sure it is sitting correctly. If the springs twisted while you were tightening it up then it could raise the car up a bit. Other than that, who knows. Maybe one tire is worn more than the other ;)

also, have you had an alignment yet? id say get the camber kit on, and check to make sure the rear bolts on both sides are tightened properly and then go get an alignment. you should be alright.

Man, I just got some Eibach Pro-Kits and its doing something like what you said to mine now. I didn't have any problems with my coilovers...but with the new springs I just put on yesterday, My passenger sides sits lower than the dirver side. I'd say the driver side is sitting little more than 1/2 inch. All the bump stops are cut the same hight (fronts are the same hights & rears are cut the same hights) But one whole side sits higher. Why is that?

When I put illuminas on and trimmed all 4 bumpstops in half, the car was a little lower. I dunno.

i'm going to vote on twisted/mis positioned spring. an alignment problem shouldn't cause a noticeable difference in ride height. i don't think our cars are even ride height adjustable

the springs looked fine to me. They were all sitting in the right place i think... They all sit fine in their positions on the struts and the top endplate thing. But, I still don't know why one side is higher than the other...

take the springs off the shocks and reinstall...You probably dont have the very end of the spring sitting in that little notch for it on either the shock body or on the rubber disc that goes on the top of the springs. Either that or maybe you have a front spring on the back etc. It's definitly not an alignment issue or anything else...Either you instealled it wrong or maybe Eibach gave you 3 front springs.

I've put them the way the instruction sheet said. I put the 001s in front, 002s on the rear. They all seemed ok, and they fit ok in the little notch like you said. strange...

The spring perch might be lower on illuminas than on your other struts. It CAN'T have anything to do with the bumpstops, like I said the car does not even touch them unless you hit a bump, and most of the time you have to be in a hard turn AND hit a bump to bottom out against the bumpstops.

To the author of this post, that is something you might want to check also if you can't find anything else. Maybe the spring perch was welded slightly higher on that corner. I would bet that it is the spring not sitting exactly where it is suppose to though.

Maybe you put one of the rear's together wrong. I did the first time i did it and it was raised up a little. I took it back off and did it again
