I was looking on RRE and saw that they didn't recommend using the KYB AGX's with a dropped car,
their quote
"We don't recommend the AGXs for the 2G Eclipse, the 2G front shock body length is too long for car that are lowered at all. If you really want them, we can special order you a set."
now what i was wondering, is that true. i can get them from my work for 80 no problem. anyone got these on a dropped 2g?

no not really. the body is longer like RRE says. on a dropped car you need more piston travel in the strut because the piston is sitting at a lower level when you lower the car. the KYB's don't offer enough travel and bottom out. if your not lowered all to much than go for it. a slight drop with trimmed bump stops may clear it. but i would spring for the few extra bucks and go with illuminas or koni's.

The AGXs do have less travel, but if you aren't lowered you have nothing to worry about. If you have a slight drop (I'd say no more than 3/4 of an inch, maybe an inch) then you should still be fine.

If you have to trim the bump stops, I'd only trim 1/3 to 1/2 the stop.

Tokicos are the setup you should go with if you are going to be any lower than that.

well i'm about 2 1/4 drop. i wanna get some adjustables cause my friend put some on his 91 GSX and said it was an awesome ride, but he also drives a truck so.....i'll more than likely go with the tokico's or some koni's. thanks guys
