Hello all, I am new to the forum but need some help with a few things... I just got a blitz kit and I am currently riding on 17X8 Konig Tantrum rims with 225/45/17 Tires my car looks a little too high in the air for me to much fender gap also but I am not sure, does anyone know whats a good amount to lower my car? I wan't a nice sporty look but I dont want to catch the beef at my school parking lot curve know what I mean?

Alright, if you are worried about scrapeing and have some money to spend then I would get some coilovers because you can adjust them to suite you. If you want springs instead i would reccomend some Eibach springs. The pro-kits only lower about 1.3 inchs and the sportlines will lower up to 2 inchs, but with the sportlines you will still have to be carefull because you will still scrape. Since you have the blitz front, I believe it sits lower to the ground than the stock bumper so with any lowering you will have to be carefull. Both springs look sporty but the sportlines will look very nice, but like I said you will scrape but not that bad.

Ok sounds good, one more question is if I take a ruler and mesure 2" down from the front of my blitz kit is that how low my car will actually be if I lower it 2" or is it not proportionate?

slam the bitch!!! if you want you can get bags, but that money. or you can get springs, but you may be too low or not low enough. i would say get coilovers so you can raise or lower it. my 2 cents.

i say get 18's and coilovers that will fill the gap..17's are way to small for our cars..even if you lower the shit out of it your gonna scape like crazy..personally im getting 19's but u may not want rims that big..just my thoughts...lata

About the way to check how low the cars is: I just took a tape measure and measured from the center of the wheel up to the fender. I don't know if this is right or wrong but that is what I did.

how much do bags cost for our cars? anyone have bags on here?

I don't have bags but ive seen them being sold in Superstreet mag all the time... A decent set is about $2000 a pro 4 corner roatating reliable at high speed set is about $4000 if you got the $2000 set don't expect to handle like a miata, heck even with the better kits your handling will never be as good as some good gas shocks and coilovers... If you race your car or like to drive over 100mph every now and then, then I suggest coilovers and shocks/struts... You will still be able to adjust suspension just not in front of your local crowd =D and hopefully if your sane and don't have a death wish not while your rolling... Besides you'll save about $3500 you can slap into a Hahn Stage 2 Turbo Kit, belive me you will get ALOT more respect and people that wanna look at your car with a Hahn kit then some bags also I am pritty sure a Turbo 420A Eclipse would win any car show before another bagged eclipse would =D

So what are the best shocks & coilovers?

I hear a lot about Tokico and Skunk2, but I'm not sure.

i can get kits for 1000-1400 depending on valve setup, have no clue were you seen 2000-4000 at, im sitting on air. let me knwo if you have anymore q's....

im dropped on intrax, rated at 1.75", but settled at about 3" and my front tires have less sidewall than the rears... my front bumper is about 2.5" off the ground...

i scrape everywhere, sometimes just drivin down the street ( due to the bouncy stock struts im still ridin on)

there is no such thing as "too" low, but w/a fiberglass kit, i wouldnt lower it too much.. my stock urethane tends to "flex" a lot better than any fiberglass aftermarket front end....

your ride height is from the ground, center of where the tire touches the ground up to your fender well. the 2 inches would be from the fender well to the tire. 2 inches on those would be quite low. can't say how bad it would be because i don't know about the speed bumps. i would say go for a 2 inch drop on springs. springs are much stiffer than the sleeve type coil overs. if you have an issue with the speed bumps you can try to take them diagnolly. when you lower your car you have to learn how to drive certain places all over again.
