1350, RRE Stress Bar...WOW!
Posted by Skrilla, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Sup people,
I was out and about driving my DSM. I'm still kinda making sure all the bugs are worked out but so far so good.

Anyway last night I finally got a REAL chance to take out my car and carve some roads using my newset mod. My car was already doing it's handles as usuall - like a King! With this bar it just brings up the edge of cornering and stability even closer to pefection. Most of you probably have this particular corner you take like everyday. Its probably a pretty fast, nice sweeping corner. Mine is a SICK 90* angle hard to the left. It was 12:10am and I took the corner at the upper middle part of 3rd gear(no time to check speed but I was at about 70mph) and I just conquered it! The only word that comes to mind is STABLE. From the install the Bar doesn't look like it would do much but it certainly did. Now I feel the old phrase "handles like it's on rails" is played and used WAY too much. It has lost it's value to me. When I took this corner this phrase came to mind in the truest sense of the thought. There is nothing like this feeling @WOT in 3rd taking the corner with nothing but FEAR pulsating through my body. Yes, I was taking this corner fast enough to scare anybody. The feeling was crazy, I was totally on the gas and truley "riding the rails". This bar was noticeable but even more so had I not had the other 3. What a way for anyone to spend $50('course I didn't:P)

Great review Skrilla, now I understand what it does much better. Mike showed me how on the driver's side of the car, the lower control arm is well tied to the frame of the body. But because of the exhaust, the lower control arm is not nearly as well supported on the passenger side. The lower bar adds the stable support needed...I can't test mine out yet to the rear lower control arms being bent by the tow truck company...

We are talking about the front lower tie bar, right? I didn't think they were done yet. I'm thinking of ordering it myself.

Ya the front lower bars. They are not done yet but me and Skrilla were lucky enough to get the prototypes. You can still pre-order til the end of this week I believe (I definitely would pre-order to save a bunch of money)

The front Strut bar is just like the rear strut bar. Some don't exactly connect each lower shock tower. They connect the front passenger lower control arm and removable engine sub frame. The front drivers side needs no such brace as the front of the car becomes fully supported with the bar but more important is the loss of engine swing at the bottom of the block. Motor mount inserts are pretty much unnecessary at this point, but can be used to make the motor almost immobile. Anyway this bar does all this without adding chassis shaking to the interior. NICE! My bar is painted a dark-silver gray and I LOVE IT. Again it's bar #3 or #4. They have one inhouse(I think slated for Juan?), Marcus with Bar #1 and one other NT running around, out there, whom DOESN'T know about 2GNT

When ordering you should specify the "Front Lower Strut Bar, NON Turbo - 420a"
but they aren't idiots, Mike is the one who gets ALL email. And yes input the $50 after that. So far Mike told me he has 15 preordered but he will accept more. $50 is pocket change for a mod like this!
EVERYONE should be ordering!

Yeah Joe, just make sure you write down it's the front lower arm bar for a 2nd gen. N/T eclipse. I would also put that you are from Team2GNT and $50 for the price. I faxed my order the other day and asked them to email me when they got it. The emailed me back and knew what was up....also told me they were doing them in a couple weeks.

Skrilla... You really are making me antsy. I hear these great reviews and I want mine!!!!!!!! I can't wait to grab some of my favorite turns. I love one if I take the right way home form work its a slightly wider than normal 90 degree turn and I just love wipping around that corner for some reason.

I remember when you first posted about this. I was one of the first to sign up, if not the first. I'm not exactly a patient person always. And as my adopted niece reminded me the other day, we need to work on patience (SHE'S 3!!!)

If you call to order, its the regular $79 price. The only way to preorder right now is through their email order form, using a credit card. The card won't be charged until they are ready to ship it out. Search for my other post with all the order info...
