13102, DOH my pads and rotors went metal to metal last night Posted by Dualgen2, Nov-03-02 03:24 AM
Well this added yet another thing to my list of problems w/ my car. Its time for me to stop being lazy and order some parts since I have saved up so much $. You guys think Ill need rotors and pads or just pads? Im pretty sure I could get away w/ resurfacing the rotors and getting new pads or just getting new Powerslot rotors in the front and resurface the rears since all the noise is coming from the front. Since I work at a dealership Im getting the head mechanic to give me some advice and do the work since he's our brake guy and get an alignment done for really cheap if anything. What pads should I get and you think powerslott rotors would be the way to go? Prices? I found EBC pads I think for like 59 for front and 69 for rear and the slotted rotors were like 70-80 a piece. Thats just online though. I know I can find better deals. TIA -Dave

I guess it all depends on what YOU want and how much denero you want to cough up. there was a new thread in the handling section on a set of four rotors with pads that looked pretty sweet to me. I don't know of the quality though.
this might just be the kick in the a** that you need to get better performing brakes.

get new front rotors, don't worry about the rears, you probably don't even have to change the rear pads at this time, they wear very slowly compared to the fronts
$80 is a good price for powerslots, if you can find cheaper then you are better at finding good deal than I :)
EBC pads should be just fine, I like powerslots but they are more expensive. EBC, metal masters, hawk, or any good performance pad should do, anything but stock.
