12803, give me 3 options to choose from Posted by kelsted, Oct-17-02 04:39 PM
I want to lower my car between 1.5 - 2 inches, but there are so many options to choose from and I don't know what to get. I've tried to do some research between maxspeed, skunk2, kyb agx, kyb gr2, tokico blues, iluminas, koni, eibach, neuspeed and so many more.
I just can't decide. Can someone give me three combinations on shocks and coilover/spings for me to help me decide what to get?
What is good to get? What is better to get? What is the best to get?
Thanks.

well for me, it would be these and in this order:
1)eibach 2)neuspeed 3)tokico (although I think blues are just shocks right?)

go for the best money can buy, for a set-up.
Performance Shock: Tokico illuminas + springs of your choice
Performance Shock: Koni Yellows (sports) + spring or coilover of your choice
btw i think Tokico Blues are oem replacements just like the Kyb gr2s. correct me if i'm wrong.

blues are a performance strut. They have higher compression and rebound than stock. They are also called HP series now. I have eibach pro kit springs with tokico illumina struts. I am happy with it. The ultimate setup is ground control coilovers with koni yellows from what I hear.

i saw in a magazine you can get a remote controlled suspension setup and change it as you want...that'd be neat

Good: Tokico Blues with Eibach Pro-kit springs Better: Illumina shocks with Ground Control coilovers Best: Tein/Tanabe full coilover setup with adjustable dampener
Some may say that the Koni Yellow shocks are a better choice then the Illuminas, but it all depends on how muc you wanna spend.

Tein has the electronic damper adjustment shit, but I doubt they make it for us. Even if they did, I think it would be ATLEAST $1,500. That is probably a generous number. I'd say more like 2k or so.

Get this:
1) H&R Sport Springs 2) KYB GR-2 Struts
This combination costs about $400, the stance is perfect, and the ride quality is nice. You won't regret it.
