Hey all, I just recently purchased some used wheels and tires and I noticed on one of the tires there is a small bump on the side wall of the tire.... I know this is from curbing but will it still be okay to drive on that tire until I can by some new ones?

i've had a bump in my tire for about a month now and it's still good to go. the guy won't warranty the tires cause he says they'll do that and such if you hit a bump. he said he'd sell me one for 75.

when I had my old GSX rims, 1 of the tires had a bump and less than a month it went flat on me. I would just avoid high speeds ^^^ and just replace when you get the money you need for new rubber.

It's not necessarily from curbing, it's a broken belt in the side wall. These can happen just from faulty manufacturing. It prolly won't cause you any problems, but I would get another as soon as possible.

Im in compliance with everyone else on this, yea be careful at high speeds and remember to mount that one on the rear in case if it blows u wont loose control as bad, u really should use that one only temporary and limit driving on days when the temperature is over 90 degrees Loved By Few-Hated On By Many http://home.bellsouth.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=16&groupid=47122&ck=

the bump is actually a bubble. there's a weak spot in your sidewall. the bubble is the air pressure in the tire pushing on the rubber. if the tires have a manuf warranty that should be covered. tires are NOT supposed to bubble. if a tire with a bubble is leaking air REPLACE IT!! this tire is about to blow.
btw bubbles in the sidewall is usually from under inflation. this is what's happening with the ford explorers. ford has the pressures set low to avoid roll over. the low pressure make the sidewalls crease flex and bubble. manufactures account for this while making a tire (low pressure not the stupidity of a car maker) and design the tire to not be as weak here as other parts. hense tread seperation.
